1Unto the end, a psalm of a canticle for David himself.

1 God be gracious unto us, and bless us, [and] cause his face to shine upon us; Selah,

1To the Overseer, with stringed instruments. --A Psalm, a Song. God doth favour us and bless us, Doth cause His face to shine with us. Selah.

2Let God arise, and let his enemies be scattered: and let them that hate him flee from before his face.

2 That thy way may be known upon earth, thy salvation among all nations.

2For the knowledge in earth of Thy way, among all nations of Thy salvation.

3As smoke vanisheth, so let them vanish away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.

3 Let the peoples praise thee, OGod, let all the peoples praise thee.

3Praise Thee do peoples, O God, Praise Thee do peoples, all of them.

4And let the just feast, and rejoice before God: and be delighted with gladness.

4 Let the nations rejoice and sing for joy: for thou wilt judge the peoples equitably; and the nations upon earth, thou wilt guide them. Selah.

4Rejoice and sing do nations, For Thou judgest peoples uprightly, And peoples on earth comfortest. Selah.

5Sing ye to God, sing a psalm to his name, make a way for him who ascendeth upon the west: the Lord is his name. Rejoice ye before him: but the wicked shall be troubled at his presence,

5 Let the peoples praise thee, OGod; let all the peoples praise thee.

5Confess Thee do peoples, O God, Confess Thee do peoples--all of them.

6Who is the father of orphans, and the judge of widows. God in his holy place:

6 The earth will yield her increase;God, ourGod, will bless us:

6Earth hath given her increase, God doth bless us--our God,

7God who maketh men of one manner to dwell in a house: Who bringeth out them that were bound in strength; in like manner them that provoke, that dwell in sepulchres.

7 God will bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.

8O God, when thou didst go forth in the sight of thy people, when thou didst pass through the desert:
