1Unto the end, a psalm for the sons of Core.
1A Song, a Psalm, by sons of Korah. Great <FI>is<Fi> Jehovah, and praised greatly, In the city of our God--His holy hill.
1 Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised, in the town of our God, in his holy mountain.
2Hear these things, all ye nations: give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world.
2Beautiful <FI>for<Fi> elevation, A joy of all the land, <FI>is<Fi> Mount Zion, The sides of the north, the city of a great king.
2Beautiful in its high position, the joy of all the earth, is the mountain of Zion, the mountain of God, the town of the great King.
3All you that are earthborn, and you sons of men: both rich and poor together.
3God in her high places is known for a tower.
3In its buildings God is seen to be a high tower.
4My mouth shall speak wisdom: and the meditation of my heart understanding.
4For, lo, the kings met, they passed by together,
4For see! the kings came together by agreement, they were joined together.
5I will incline my ear to a parable; I will open my proposition on the psaltery.
5They have seen--so they have marvelled, They have been troubled, they were hastened away.
5They saw it, and so were full of wonder; they were troubled, and went quickly away in fear.
6Why shall I fear in the evil day? the iniquity of my heel shall encompass me.
6Trembling hath seized them there, Pain, as of a travailing woman.
6Shaking came on them and pain, as on a woman in childbirth.
7They that trust in their own strength, and glory in the multitude of their riches,
7By an east wind Thou shiverest ships of Tarshish.
7By you the ships of Tarshish are broken as by an east wind.
8No brother can redeem, nor shall man redeem: he shall not give to God his ransom,
8As we have heard, so we have seen, In the city of Jehovah of hosts, In the city of our God, God doth establish her--to the age. Selah.
8As it came to our ears so have we seen it, in the town of the Lord of armies, in the town of our God; God will keep it fixed for ever. (Selah.)
9Nor the price of the redemption of his soul: and shall labour for ever,
9We have thought, O God, of Thy kindness, In the midst of Thy temple,
9Our thoughts were of your mercy, O God, while we were in your Temple.
10And shall still live unto the end.
10As <FI>is<Fi> Thy name, O God, so <FI>is<Fi> Thy praise, Over the ends of the earth, Righteousness hath filled Thy right hand.
10As your name is, O God, so is your praise to the ends of the earth; your right hand is full of righteousness.
11He shall not see destruction, when he shall see the wise dying: the senseless and the fool shall perish together: And they shall leave their riches to strangers:
11Rejoice doth Mount Zion, The daughters of Judah are joyful, For the sake of Thy judgments.
11Let there be joy in the mountain of Zion, and let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of your wise decisions.
12And their sepulchres shall be their houses for ever. Their dwelling places to all generations: they have called their lands by their names.
12Compass Zion, and go round her, count her towers,
12Make your way about Zion, and go round it, numbering its towers.
13And man when he was in honour did not understand; he is compared to senseless beasts, and is become like to them.
13Set your heart to her bulwark, Consider her high places, So that ye recount to a later generation,
13Take note of its strong walls, looking well at its fair buildings; so that you may give word of it to the generation which comes after.
14This way of theirs is a stumblingblock to them: and afterwards they shall delight in their mouth.
14That this God <FI>is<Fi> our God--To the age and for ever, He--he doth lead us over death!
14Because this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide.
15They are laid in hell like sheep: death shall feed upon them. And the just shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their help shall decay in hell from their glory.

16But God will redeem my soul from the hand of hell, when he shall receive me.

17Be not thou afraid, when a man shall be made rich, and when the glory of his house shall be increased.

18For when he shall die he shall take nothing away; nor shall his glory descend with him.

19For in his lifetime his soul will be blessed: and he will praise thee when thou shalt do well to him.
