1O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.

1A psalm of a canticle, for the sons of Core, on the second day of the week.

1 O make a glad noise with your hands, all you peoples; letting your voices go up to God with joy.

2For the Lord most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.

2Great is the Lord, and exceedingly to be praised in the city of our God, in his holy mountain.

2For the Lord Most High is to be feared; he is a great King over all the earth.

3He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet.

3With the joy of the whole earth is mount Sion founded, on the sides of the north, the city of the great king.

3He will put down the peoples under us, and the nations under our feet.

4He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.

4In her houses shall God be known, when he shall protect her.

4He will give us our heritage, the glory of Jacob who is dear to him. (Selah.)

5God is gone up with a shout, the Lord with the sound of a trumpet.

5For behold the kings of the earth assembled themselves: they gathered together.

5God has gone up with a glad cry, the Lord with the sound of the horn.

6Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.

6So they saw, and they wondered, they were troubled, they were moved:

6Give praises to God, make songs of praise; give praises to our King, make songs of praise.

7For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.

7Trembling took hold of them. There were pains as of a woman in labour.

7For God is the King of all the earth; make songs of praise with knowledge.

8God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness.

8With a vehement wind thou shalt break in pieces the ships of Tharsis.

8God is the ruler over the nations; God is on the high seat of his holy rule.

9The princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth belong unto God: he is greatly exalted.

9As we have heard, so have we seen, in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God: God hath founded it for ever.

9The rulers of the peoples have come together, with the people of the God of Abraham; because the powers of the earth are God's: he is lifted up on high.
