Psalms 47

1 O make a glad noise with your hands, all you peoples; letting your voices go up to God with joy.

1 All ye peoples, clap your hands; shout untoGod with the voice of triumph!

1To the Overseer. --By sons of Korah. A Psalm. All ye peoples, clap the hand, Shout to God with a voice of singing,

2For the Lord Most High is to be feared; he is a great King over all the earth.

2 For Jehovah, the Most High, is terrible, a great king over all the earth.

2For Jehovah Most High <FI>is<Fi> fearful, A great king over all the earth.

3He will put down the peoples under us, and the nations under our feet.

3 He subdueth the peoples under us, and the nations under our feet.

3He leadeth peoples under us, and nations under our feet.

4He will give us our heritage, the glory of Jacob who is dear to him. (Selah.)

4 He hath chosen our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.

4He doth choose for us our inheritance, The excellency of Jacob that He loves. Selah.

5God has gone up with a glad cry, the Lord with the sound of the horn.

5 God is gone up amid shouting, Jehovah amid the sound of the trumpet.

5God hath gone up with a shout, Jehovah with the sound of a trumpet.

6Give praises to God, make songs of praise; give praises to our King, make songs of praise.

6 Sing psalms ofGod, sing psalms; sing psalms unto our King, sing psalms!

6Praise God--praise--give praise to our king, praise.

7For God is the King of all the earth; make songs of praise with knowledge.

7 ForGod is the King of all the earth; sing psalms with understanding.

7For king of all the earth <FI>is<Fi> God, Give praise, O understanding one.

8God is the ruler over the nations; God is on the high seat of his holy rule.

8 God reigneth over the nations;God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness.

8God hath reigned over nations, God hath sat on His holy throne,

9The rulers of the peoples have come together, with the people of the God of Abraham; because the powers of the earth are God's: he is lifted up on high.

9 The willing-hearted of the peoples have gathered together, [with] the people of theGod of Abraham. For untoGod [belong] the shields of the earth: he is greatly exalted.

9Nobles of peoples have been gathered, <FI>With<Fi> the people of the God of Abraham, For to God <FI>are<Fi> the shields of earth, Greatly hath He been exalted!
