1 My heart is welling forth [with] a good matter: I say what I have composed touching the king. My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

1Unto the end, for the sons of Core, for the hidden.

2 Thou art fairer than the sons of men; grace is poured into thy lips: thereforeGod hath blessed thee for ever.

2Our God is our refuge and strength: a helper in troubles, which have found us exceedingly.

3 Gird thy sword upon [thy] thigh, O mighty one, [in] thy majesty and thy splendour;

3Therefore we will not fear, when the earth shall be troubled; and the mountains shall be removed into the heart of the sea.

4 And [in] thy splendour ride prosperously, because of truth and meekness [and] righteousness: and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.

4Their waters roared and were troubled: the mountains were troubled with his strength.

5 Thine arrows are sharp — peoples fall under thee — in the heart of the king's enemies.

5The stream of the river maketh the city of God joyful: the most High hath sanctified his own tabernacle.

6 Thy throne, OGod, is for ever and ever; a sceptre of uprightness is the sceptre of thy kingdom:

6God is in the midst thereof, it shall not be moved: God will help it in the morning early.

7 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated wickedness; thereforeGod, thyGod, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy companions.

7Nations were troubled, and kingdoms were bowed down: he uttered his voice, the earth trembled.

8 Myrrh and aloes, cassia, are all thy garments; out of ivory palaces stringed instruments have made thee glad.

8The Lord of armies is with us: the God of Jacob is our protector.

9 Kings' daughters are among thine honourable women; upon thy right hand doth stand the queen in gold of Ophir.

9Come and behold ye the works of the Lord: what wonders he hath done upon earth,

10 Hearken, daughter, and see, and incline thine ear; and forget thine own people and thy father's house:

10Making wars to cease even to the end of the earth. He shall destroy the bow, and break the weapons: and the shield he shall burn in the fire.

11 And the king will desire thy beauty; for he is thy Lord, and worship thou him.

11Be still and see that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, and I will be exalted in the earth.

12 And the daughter of Tyre with a gift, the rich ones among the people, shall court thy favour.

12The Lord of armies is with us: the God of Jacob is our protector.

13 All glorious is the king's daughter within; her clothing is of wrought gold:

14 She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of embroidery; the virgins behind her, her companions, shall be brought in unto thee:
