1Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: Oh deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.

1Declare me innocent, O God, and defend my case against people who do not follow you; rescue me from those who are dishonest and wicked.

2For thou art the God of my strength; why hast thou cast me off? Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

2For you are the God who gives me strength; why have you rejected me? Why must I walk around in sadness because my enemies are hurting me?

3Oh send out thy light and thy truth; let them lead me: Let them bring me unto thy holy hill, And to thy tabernacles.

3Send out your light and your truth; let them guide me. Let them lead me to your holy mountain and to the place where you live.

4Then will I go unto the altar of God, Unto God my exceeding joy; And upon the harp will I praise thee, O God, my God.

4Then I will go to the altar of God, to God who is my greatest joy. I will praise you with the harp, O God, my God.

5Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God; for I shall yet praise him, Who isthe help of my countenance, and my God.

5Why am I so discouraged? Why is my heart so upset? Put your hope in God! For I will again praise him, my Savior and my God.
