1 Give answer to my cry, O God of my righteousness; make me free from my troubles; have mercy on me, and give ear to my prayer.
1Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.
1Unto the end, in verses. A psalm for David.
2O you sons of men, how long will you go on turning my glory into shame? how long will you give your love to foolish things, going after what is false? (Selah.)
2O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah.
2When I called upon him, the God of my justice heard me: when I was in distress, thou hast enlarged me. Have mercy on me: and hear my prayer.
3See how the Lord has made great his mercy for me; the Lord will give ear to my cry.

3O ye sons of men, how long will you be dull of heart? why do you love vanity, and seek after lying?
4Let there be fear in your hearts, and do no sin; have bitter feelings on your bed, but make no sound. (Selah.)
4Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.
4Know ye also that the Lord hath made his holy one wonderful: the Lord will hear me when I shall cry unto him.
5Give the offerings of righteousness, and put your faith in the Lord.
5Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.
5Be ye angry, and sin not: the things you say in your hearts, be sorry for them upon your beds.
6There are numbers who say, Who will do us any good? the light of his face has gone from us.
6There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? Lord, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.
6Offer up the sacrifice of justice, and trust in the Lord: many say, Who sheweth us good things?
7Lord, you have put joy in my heart, more than they have when their grain and their wine are increased.
7Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.
7The light of thy countenance, O Lord, is signed upon us: thou hast given gladness in my heart.
8I will take my rest on my bed in peace, because you only, Lord, keep me safe.
8I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.
8By the fruit of their corn, their wine, and oil, they are multiplied:
