1I will extol thee, O Lord; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.

1 I will extol thee, Jehovah; for thou hast delivered me, and hast not made mine enemies to rejoice over me.

1A Psalm. --A song of the dedication of the house of David. I exalt Thee, O Jehovah, For Thou hast drawn me up, and hast not let mine enemies rejoice over me.

2O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.

2 Jehovah myGod, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.

2Jehovah my God, I have cried to Thee, And Thou dost heal me.

3O Lord, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

3 Jehovah, thou hast brought up my soul from Sheol, thou hast quickened me from among those that go down to the pit.

3Jehovah, Thou hast brought up from Sheol my soul, Thou hast kept me alive, From going down <FI>to<Fi> the pit.

4Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.

4 Sing psalms unto Jehovah, ye saints of his, and give thanks in remembrance of his holiness.

4Sing praise to Jehovah, ye His saints, And give thanks at the remembrance of His holiness,

5For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

5 For a moment [is passed] in his anger, a life in his favour; at even weeping cometh for the night, and at morn there is rejoicing.

5For--a moment <FI>is<Fi> in His anger, Life <FI>is<Fi> in His good-will, At even remaineth weeping, and at morn singing.

6And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.

6 As for me, I said in my prosperity, I shall never be moved.

6And I--I have said in mine ease, `I am not moved--to the age.

7Lord, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled.

7 Jehovah, by thy favour thou hadst made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face; I was troubled.

7O Jehovah, in Thy good pleasure, Thou hast caused strength to remain for my mountain,' Thou hast hidden Thy face--I have been troubled.

8I cried to thee, O Lord; and unto the Lord I made supplication.

8 I called to thee, Jehovah, and unto the Lord did I make supplication:

8Unto Thee, O Jehovah, I call, And unto Jehovah I make supplication.

9What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?

9 What profit is there in my blood, in my going down to the pit? shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?

9`What gain <FI>is<Fi> in my blood? In my going down unto corruption? Doth dust thank Thee? doth it declare Thy truth?

10Hear, O Lord, and have mercy upon me: Lord, be thou my helper.

10 Hear, O Jehovah, and be gracious unto me; Jehovah, be my helper.

10Hear, O Jehovah, and favour me, O Jehovah, be a helper to me.'

11Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;

11 Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing; thou hast loosed my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;

11Thou hast turned my mourning to dancing for me, Thou hast loosed my sackcloth, And girdest me <FI>with<Fi> joy.

12To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.

12 That [my] glory may sing psalms of thee, and not be silent. Jehovah myGod, I will praise thee for ever.

12So that honour doth praise Thee, and is not silent, O Jehovah, my God, to the age I thank Thee!
