1Unto thee, O Jehovah, will I call: My rock, be not thou deaf unto me; Lest, if thou be silent unto me, I become like them that go down into the pit.
1I call out to you, LORD; you are my rock, do not turn a deaf ear to me. If you remain silent, I will become like those who go down to the grave.
2Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, When I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle.
2Hear my cry for mercy when I call to you for help, as I lift up my hands toward your most holy place.
3Draw me not away with the wicked, And with the workers of iniquity; That speak peace with their neighbors, But mischief is in their hearts.
3Do not drag me away with the wicked and those who do evil, who speak peacefully to their neighbors while planning malice in their hearts.
4Give them according to their work, and according to the wickedness of their doings: Give them after the operation of their hands; Render to them their desert.
4Pay them back for what they have done and for their evil deeds. Give them exactly what they deserve for the work of their hands.
5Because they regard not the works of Jehovah, Nor the operation of his hands, He will break them down and not build them up.
5Since they have no respect for what the LORD has done or for the work of his hands, he will tear them down and never build them up again.
6Blessed be Jehovah, Because he hath heard the voice of my supplications.
6Praise the LORD, because he has heard my cry for mercy.
7Jehovah is my strength and my shield; My heart hath trusted in him, and I am helped: Therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; And with my song will I praise him.
7The LORD is my strength and my shield; I trusted him with all my heart, and he helped me. My heart leaps for joy, and I will thank him with my song.
