1By David. Unto Thee, O Jehovah, my soul I lift up.

1Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.

2My God, in Thee I have trusted, Let me not be ashamed, Let not mine enemies exult over me.

2O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.

3Also let none waiting on Thee be ashamed, Let the treacherous dealers without cause be ashamed.

3Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.

4Thy ways, O Jehovah, cause me to know, Thy paths teach Thou me.

4Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.

5Cause me to tread in Thy truth, and teach me, For Thou <FI>art<Fi> the God of my salvation, Near Thee I have waited all the day.

5Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

6Remember Thy mercies, O Jehovah, And Thy kindnesses, for from the age <FI>are<Fi> they.

6Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.

7Sins of my youth, and my transgressions, Do not Thou remember. According to Thy kindness be mindful of me, For Thy goodness' sake, O Jehovah.

7Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O Lord.

8Good and upright <FI>is<Fi> Jehovah, Therefore He directeth sinners in the way.

8Good and upright is the Lord: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.

9He causeth the humble to tread in judgment, And teacheth the humble His way.

9The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.

10All the paths of Jehovah <FI>are<Fi> kindness and truth, To those keeping His covenant, And His testimonies.

10All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

11For Thy name's sake, O Jehovah, Thou hast pardoned mine iniquity, for it <FI>is<Fi> great.

11For thy name’s sake, O Lord, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.

12Who <FI>is<Fi> this--the man fearing Jehovah? He directeth him in the way He doth choose.

12What man is he that feareth the Lord? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.

13His soul in good doth remain, And his seed doth possess the land.

13His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.

14The secret of Jehovah <FI>is<Fi> for those fearing Him, And His covenant--to cause them to know.

14The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

15Mine eyes <FI>are<Fi> continually unto Jehovah, For He bringeth out from a net my feet.

15Mine eyes are ever toward the Lord; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.

16Turn Thou unto me, and favour me, For lonely and afflicted <FI>am<Fi> I.

16Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.

17The distresses of my heart have enlarged themselves, From my distresses bring me out.

17The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.

18See mine affliction and my misery, And bear with all my sins.

18Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.

19See my enemies, for they have been many, And with violent hatred they have hated me.

19Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.

20Keep my soul, and deliver me, Let me not be ashamed, for I trusted in Thee.

20O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.

21Integrity and uprightness do keep me, For I have waited <FI>on<Fi> Thee.

21Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.

22Redeem Israel, O God, from all his distresses!

22Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.
