Psalms 24

1The earth is Jehovah’s, and the fulness thereof; The world, and they that dwell therein.

1The earth and everything in it belong to Jehovah; the world and all its people are his.

2For he hath founded it upon the seas, And established it upon the floods.

2He built the earth on the foundations of the seas and established it above the deep waters.

3Who shall ascend into the hill of Jehovah? And who shall stand in his holy place?

3Who is allowed to go up the mountain of Jehovah? Who may stand in his holy place?

4He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; Who hath not lifted up his soul unto falsehood, And hath not sworn deceitfully.

4Only those with clean hands and pure hearts, who do not worship idols and never tell lies under oath.

5He shall receive a blessing from Jehovah, And righteousness from the God of his salvation.

5They will receive a blessing from Jehovah and justice from the God who saves them.

6This is the generation of them that seek after him, That seek thy face, even Jacob. [Selah

6Such are the people who seek him, the ones who search for your face, O God of Jacob.

7Lift up your heads, O ye gates; And be ye lifted up, ye everlasting doors: And the King of glory will come in.

7Open up, you gates! Open wide, you ancient doors, so the King of glory may enter.

8Who is the King of glory? Jehovah strong and mighty, Jehovah mighty in battle.

8Who is this King of glory? It is Jehovah, strong and powerful, Jehovah, the hero of every battle.

9Lift up your heads, O ye gates; Yea, lift them up, ye everlasting doors: And the King of glory will come in.

9Open up, you gates! Open wide, you ancient doors, so the King of glory may enter.

10Who is this King of glory? Jehovah of hosts, He is the King of glory. [Selah

10Who is this King of glory? The Jehovah of heaven’s armies—he is the King of glory.
