1Jehovah is my shepherd; I shall not want.

1The LORD is my shepherd; I have everything I need.

2He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside still waters.

2He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside quiet waters.

3He restoreth my soul: He guideth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

3He restores my strength; he guides me along right paths to bring honor to his name.

4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.

4Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me; your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.

5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou hast anointed my head with oil; My cup runneth over.

5You prepare a feast for me right in front of my enemies; you honor me by anointing my head with oil; my cup overflows with blessings.

6Surely goodness and lovingkindness shall follow me all the days of my life; And I shall dwell in the house of Jehovah for ever.

6Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever.
