1 Jehovah answer thee in the day of trouble; The name of the God of Jacob set thee up on high;
1Unto the end. A psalm for David.
1 May the Lord give ear to you in the day of trouble; may you be placed on high by the name of the God of Jacob;
2Send thee help from the sanctuary, And strengthen thee out of Zion;
2In thy strength, O Lord, the king shall joy; and in thy salvation he shall rejoice exceedingly.
2May he send you help from the holy place, and give you strength from Zion;
3Remember all thy offerings, And accept thy burnt-sacrifice; [Selah
3Thou hast given him his heart's desire: and hast not withholden from him the will of his lips.
3May he keep all your offerings in mind, and be pleased with the fat of your burned offerings; (Selah.)
4Grant thee thy heart’s desire, And fulfil all thy counsel.
4For thou hast prevented him with blessings of sweetness: thou hast set on his head a crown of precious stones.
4May he give you your heart's desire, and put all your purposes into effect.
5We will triumph in thy salvation, And in the name of our God we will set up our banners: Jehovah fulfil all thy petitions.
5He asked life of thee: and thou hast given him length of days for ever and ever.
5We will be glad in your salvation, and in the name of our God we will put up our flags: may the Lord give you all your requests.
6Now know I that Jehovah saveth his anointed; He will answer him from his holy heaven With the saving strength of his right hand.
6His glory is great in thy salvation: glory and great beauty shalt thou lay upon him.
6Now am I certain that the Lord gives salvation to his king; he will give him an answer from his holy heaven with the strength of salvation in his right hand.
7Some trustin chariots, and some in horses; But we will make mention of the name of Jehovah our God.
7For thou shalt give him to be a blessing for ever and ever: thou shalt make him joyful in gladness with thy countenance.
7Some put their faith in carriages and some in horses; but we will be strong in the name of the Lord our God.
8They are bowed down and fallen; But we are risen, and stand upright.
8For the king hopeth in the Lord: and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.
8They are bent down and made low; but we have been lifted up.
9Save, Jehovah: Let the King answer us when we call.
9Let thy hand be found by all thy enemies: let thy right hand find out all them that hate thee.
9Come to our help, Lord: let the king give ear to our cry.
