1Unto the end. A psalm for David.
1The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
2May the Lord hear thee in the day of tribulation: may the name of the God of Jacob protect thee.
2Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
3May he send thee help from the sanctuary: and defend thee out of Sion.
3There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
4May he be mindful of all thy sacrifices: and may thy whole burntoffering be made fat.
4Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
5May he give thee according to thy own heart; and confirm all thy counsels.
5Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
6We will rejoice in thy salvation; and in the name of our God we shall be exalted.
6His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.
7The Lord fulfil all thy petitions: now have I known that the Lord hath saved his anointed. He will hear him from his holy heaven: the salvation of his right hand is in powers.
7The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
8Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will call upon the name of the Lord, our God.
8The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9They are bound, and have fallen: but we are risen, and are set upright.
9The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
10O Lord, save the king: and hear us in the day that we shall call upon thee.
10More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11(not in this translation)
11Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
