1 The heavens are sounding the glory of God; the arch of the sky makes clear the work of his hands.
1To the Overseer. --A Psalm of David. The heavens <FI>are<Fi> recounting the honour of God, And the work of His hands The expanse <FI>is<Fi> declaring.
2Day after day it sends out its word, and night after night it gives knowledge.
2Day to day uttereth speech, And night to night sheweth knowledge.
3There are no words or language; their voice makes no sound.
3There is no speech, and there are no words. Their voice hath not been heard.
4Their line has gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them has he put a tent for the sun,
4Into all the earth hath their line gone forth, And to the end of the world their sayings, For the sun He placed a tent in them,
5Who is like a newly married man coming from his bride-tent, and is glad like a strong runner starting on his way.
5And he, as a bridegroom, goeth out from his covering, He rejoiceth as a mighty one To run the path.
6His going out is from the end of the heaven, and his circle to the ends of it; there is nothing which is not open to his heat.
6From the end of the heavens <FI>is<Fi> his going out, And his revolution <FI>is<Fi> unto their ends, And nothing is hid from his heat.
7The law of the Lord is good, giving new life to the soul: the witness of the Lord is certain, giving wisdom to the foolish.
7The law of Jehovah <FI>is<Fi> perfect, refreshing the soul, The testimonies of Jehovah <FI>are<Fi> stedfast, Making wise the simple,
8The orders of the Lord are right, making glad the heart: the rule of the Lord is holy, giving light to the eyes.
8The precepts of Jehovah <FI>are<Fi> upright, Rejoicing the heart, The command of Jehovah <FI>is<Fi> pure, enlightening the eyes,
9The fear of the Lord is clean, and has no end; the decisions of the Lord are true and full of righteousness.
9The fear of Jehovah <FI>is<Fi> clean, standing to the age, The judgments of Jehovah <FI>are<Fi> true, They have been righteous--together.
10More to be desired are they than gold, even than much shining gold; sweeter than the dropping honey.
10They are more desirable than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; and sweeter than honey, Even liquid honey of the comb.
11By them is your servant made conscious of danger, and in keeping them there is great reward.
11Also--Thy servant is warned by them, `In keeping them <FI>is<Fi> a great reward.'
12Who has full knowledge of his errors? make me clean from secret evil.
12Errors! who doth understand? From hidden ones declare me innocent,
