1 Keep me safe, O God: for in you I have put my faith.
1The prayer of David. Hear, O Lord, my justice: attend to my supplication. Give ear unto my prayer, which proceedeth not from deceitful lips.
1 Preserve me, OGod: for I trust in thee.
2O my soul, you have said to the Lord, You are my Lord: I have no good but you.
2Let my judgment come forth from thy countenance: let thy eyes behold the things that are equitable.
2 Thou [my soul] hast said to Jehovah, Thou art the Lord: my goodness [extendeth] not to thee; —
3As for the saints who are in the earth, they are the noble in whom is all my delight.
3Thou hast proved my heart, and visited it by night, thou hast tried me by fire: and iniquity hath not been found in me.
3 To the saints that are on the earth, and to the excellent [thou hast said], In them is all my delight.
4Their sorrows will be increased who go after another god: I will not take drink offerings from their hands, or take their names on my lips.
4That my mouth may not speak the works of men: for the sake of the words of thy lips, I have kept hard ways.
4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another: their drink-offerings of blood will I not offer, and I will not take up their names into my lips.
5The Lord is my heritage and the wine of my cup; you are the supporter of my right.
5Perfect thou my goings in thy paths: that my footsteps be not moved.
5 Jehovah is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
6Fair are the places marked out for me; I have a noble heritage.
6I have cried to thee, for thou, O God, hast heard me: O incline thy ear unto me, and hear my words.
6 The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.
7I will give praise to the Lord who has been my guide; knowledge comes to me from my thoughts in the night.
7Shew forth thy wonderful mercies; thou who savest them that trust in thee.
7 I will bless Jehovah, who giveth me counsel; even in the nights my reins instruct me.
8I have put the Lord before me at all times; because he is at my right hand, I will not be moved.
8From them that resist thy right hand keep me, as the apple of thy eye. Protect me under the shadow of thy wings.
8 I have set Jehovah continually before me; because [he is] at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
9Because of this my heart is glad, and my glory is full of joy: while my flesh takes its rest in hope.
9From the face of the wicked who have afflicted me. My enemies have surrounded my soul:
9 Therefore my heart rejoiceth, and my glory exulteth; my flesh moreover shall dwell in hope.
10For you will not let my soul be prisoned in the underworld; you will not let your loved one see the place of death.
10They have shut up their fat: their mouth hath spoken proudly.
10 For thou wilt not leave my soul to Sheol, neither wilt thou allow thy Holy One to see corruption.
11You will make clear to me the way of life; where you are joy is complete; in your right hand there are pleasures for ever and ever.
11They have cast me forth, and now they have surrounded me: they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth.
11 Thou wilt make known to me the path of life: thy countenance is fulness of joy; at thy right hand are pleasures for evermore.

12They have taken me, as a lion prepared for the prey; and as a young lion dwelling in secret places.
