Psalms 149

1Praise ye Jehovah. Sing unto Jehovah a new song, And his praise in the assembly of the saints.

1Praise the LORD! Sing a new song to the LORD; praise him in the gathering of his faithful people.

2Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: Let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.

2Let the people of Israel celebrate their Maker; let the citizens of Zion be joyful in their King.

3Let them praise his name in the dance: Let them sing praises unto him with timbrel and harp.

3Let them praise his name with dancing; let them sing praises to him with the tambourine and the lyre.

4For Jehovah taketh pleasure in his people: He will beautify the meek with salvation.

4For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.

5Let the saints exult in glory: Let them sing for joy upon their beds.

5Let his faithful ones celebrate in this honor; let them sing for joy even as they lie in bed.

6Letthe high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand;

6Let the high praises of God be in their mouths, and let a two-edged sword be in their hands,

7To execute vengeance upon the nations, And punishments upon the peoples;

7to take revenge on the nations and to punish the peoples,

8To bind their kings with chains, And their nobles with fetters of iron;

8to bind their kings with chains and their leaders with iron shackles,

9To execute upon them the judgment written: This honor have all his saints. Praise ye Jehovah.

9to carry out the judgment already written against them. This is the glory of all his faithful people. Praise the LORD!
