1A psalm for David. Lord, who shall dwell in thy tabernacle? or who shall rest in thy holy hill?

1The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works; There is none that doeth good.

1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is noGod. They have corrupted themselves, they have done abominable works: there is none that doeth good.

2He that walketh without blemish, and worketh justice:

2Jehovah looked down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there were any that did understand, That did seek after God.

2 Jehovah looked down from the heavens upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seekGod.

3He that speaketh truth in his heart, who hath not used deceit in his tongue: Nor hath done evil to his neighbour: nor taken up a reproach against his neighbours.

3They are all gone aside; they are together become filthy; There is none that doeth good, no, not one.

3 They have all gone aside, they are together become corrupt: there is none that doeth good, not even one.

4In his sight the malignant is brought to nothing: but he glorifieth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his neighbour, and deceiveth not;

4Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, Who eat up my peopleasthey eat bread, And call not upon Jehovah?

4 Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, eating up my people [as] they eat bread? They call not upon Jehovah.

5He that hath not put out his money to usury, nor taken bribes against the innocent: He that doth these things, shall not be moved for ever.

5There were they in great fear; For God is in the generation of the righteous.

5 There were they in great fear; forGod is in the generation of the righteous.
