Psalms 138

1I will give thee thanks with my whole heart: Before the gods will I sing praises unto thee.

1I will give you thanks with all my heart; I will sing your praises in front of the heavenly beings.

2I will worship toward thy holy temple, And give thanks unto thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: For thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

2I will bow down toward your holy temple and give thanks to your name for your constant love and faithfulness; for you have honored your word even above your great reputation.

3In the day that I called thou answeredst me, Thou didst encourage me with strength in my soul.

3On the day I called out, you answered me; you made me bold and strengthened my soul.

4All the kings of the earth shall give thee thanks, O Jehovah, For they have heard the words of thy mouth.

4All the kings of the earth will thank you, Jehovah, when they hear the words you have spoken.

5Yea, they shall sing of the ways of Jehovah; For great is the glory of Jehovah.

5They will sing about the ways of Jehovah, for the glory of Jehovah is very great.

6For though Jehovah is high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly; But the haughty he knoweth from afar.

6Though Jehovah is high above, he cares for the humble, but he recognizes the proud from a distance.

7Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me; Thou wilt stretch forth thy hand against the wrath of mine enemies, And thy right hand will save me.

7Even if I walk through the middle of trouble, you will keep me alive; you will reach out your hand against the anger of my enemies, and your right hand will save me.

8Jehovah will perfect that which concerneth me: Thy lovingkindness, O Jehovah, endureth for ever; Forsake not the works of thine own hands.

8Jehovah will complete everything he has started for me; your constant love, Jehovah, lasts forever—do not abandon the people you have made.
