1 Lord, there is no pride in my heart and my eyes are not lifted up; and I have not taken part in great undertakings, or in things over-hard for me.

1A gradual canticle. O Lord, remember David, and all his meekness.

1Jehovah, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty; Neither do I exercise myself in great matters, Or in things too wonderful for me.

2See, I have made my soul calm and quiet, like a child on its mother's breast; my soul is like a child on its mother's breast.

2How he swore to the Lord, he vowed a vow to the God of Jacob:

2Surely I have stilled and quieted my soul; Like a weaned child with his mother, Like a weaned child is my soul within me.

3O Israel, have hope in the Lord, from this time and for ever.

3If I shall enter into the tabernacle of my house: if I shall go up into the bed wherein I lie:

3O Israel, hope in Jehovah From this time forth and for evermore.
