1 I was glad because they said to me, We will go into the house of the Lord.
1I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.
1A Song of the Ascents, by David. I have rejoiced in those saying to me, `To the house of Jehovah we go.'
2At last our feet were inside your doors, O Jerusalem.
2Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem.
2Our feet have been standing in thy gates, O Jerusalem!
3O Jerusalem, you are like a town which is well joined together;
3Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together:
3Jerusalem--the builded one--<FI> Is<Fi> as a city that is joined to itself together.
4To which the tribes went up, even the tribes of the Lord, for a witness to Israel, to give praise to the name of the Lord.
4Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the Lord.
4For thither have tribes gone up, Tribes of Jah, companies of Israel, To give thanks to the name of Jehovah.
5For there seats for the judges were placed, even the rulers' seats of the line of David.

6O make prayers for the peace of Jerusalem; may they whose love is given to you do well.
6Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

7May peace be inside your walls, and wealth in your noble houses.
7Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.
