Psalms 122

1 I was glad because they said to me, We will go into the house of the Lord.

1 I rejoiced when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of Jehovah.

1A Song of the Ascents, by David. I have rejoiced in those saying to me, `To the house of Jehovah we go.'

2At last our feet were inside your doors, O Jerusalem.

2 Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem.

2Our feet have been standing in thy gates, O Jerusalem!

3O Jerusalem, you are like a town which is well joined together;

3 Jerusalem, which art built as a city that is compact together,

3Jerusalem--the builded one--<FI> Is<Fi> as a city that is joined to itself together.

4To which the tribes went up, even the tribes of the Lord, for a witness to Israel, to give praise to the name of the Lord.

4 Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of Jah, a testimony to Israel, to give thanks unto the name of Jehovah.

4For thither have tribes gone up, Tribes of Jah, companies of Israel, To give thanks to the name of Jehovah.

5For there seats for the judges were placed, even the rulers' seats of the line of David.

5 For there are set thrones for judgment, the thrones of the house of David.

5For there have sat thrones of judgment, Thrones of the house of David.

6O make prayers for the peace of Jerusalem; may they whose love is given to you do well.

6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

6Ask ye the peace of Jerusalem, At rest are those loving thee.

7May peace be inside your walls, and wealth in your noble houses.

7 Peace be within thy bulwarks, prosperity within thy palaces.

7Peace is in thy bulwark, rest in thy high places,

8Because of my brothers and friends, I will now say, Let peace be with you.

8 For my brethren and companions' sakes I will say, Peace be within thee!

8For the sake of my brethren and my companions, Let me speak, I pray thee, `Peace <FI>be<Fi> in thee.'

9Because of the house of the Lord our God, I will be working for your good.

9 Because of the house of Jehovah ourGod I will seek thy good.

9For the sake of the house of Jehovah our God, I seek good for thee!
