1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go unto the house of Jehovah.

2 Our feet are standing Within thy gates, O Jerusalem,

3Jerusalem, that art builded As a city that is compact together;

3O Jerusalem, you are like a town which is well joined together;

4Whither the tribes go up, even the tribes of Jehovah, Foran ordinance for Israel, To give thanks unto the name of Jehovah.

4To which the tribes went up, even the tribes of the Lord, for a witness to Israel, to give praise to the name of the Lord.

5For there are set thrones for judgment, The thrones of the house of David.

5For there seats for the judges were placed, even the rulers' seats of the line of David.

6Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: They shall prosper that love thee.

6O make prayers for the peace of Jerusalem; may they whose love is given to you do well.

7Peace be within thy walls, And prosperity within thy palaces.

7May peace be inside your walls, and wealth in your noble houses.

8For my brethren and companions’ sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.

9 For the sake of the house of Jehovah our God I will seek thy good.
