1Praise ye Jah! Praise, ye servants of Jehovah. Praise the name of Jehovah.

1Let the Lord be praised. O you servants of the Lord, give praise to the name of the Lord.

2The name of Jehovah is blessed, From henceforth, and unto the age.

2Let blessing be on the name of the Lord, from this time and for ever.

3From the rising of the sun unto its going in, Praised <FI>is<Fi> the name of Jehovah.

3From the coming up of the sun to its going down, the Lord's name is to be praised.

4High above all nations <FI>is<Fi> Jehovah, Above the heavens <FI>is<Fi> his honour.

4The Lord is high over all nations, and his glory is higher than the heavens.

5Who <FI>is<Fi> as Jehovah our God, He is exalting <FI>Himself<Fi> to sit?

5Who is like the Lord our God, who is seated on high,

6He is humbling <FI>Himself<Fi> to look On the heavens and on the earth.

6Looking down on the heavens, and on the earth?

7He is raising up from the dust the poor, From a dunghill He exalteth the needy.

7He takes the poor man out of the dust, lifting him up from his low position;

8To cause to sit with princes, With the princes of His people.

8To give him a place among the rulers, even with the rulers of his people.

9Causing the barren one of the house to sit, A joyful mother of sons; praise ye Jah!

9He gives the unfertile woman a family, making her a happy mother of children. Give praise to the Lord.
