1Let the Lord be praised. Happy is the man who gives honour to the Lord, and has great delight in his laws.
1Hallelujah! Blessed is the man that feareth Jehovah, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.
1Praise the Lord, ye children: praise ye the name of the Lord.
2His seed will be strong on the earth; blessings will be on the generation of the upright.
2 His seed shall be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright shall be blessed.
2Blessed be the name of the Lord, from henceforth now and for ever.
3A store of wealth will be in his house, and his righteousness will be for ever.
3 Wealth and riches [shall be] in his house; and his righteousness abideth for ever.
3From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same, the name of the Lord is worthy of praise.
4For the upright there is a light shining in the dark; he is full of grace and pity.
4 Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness; he is gracious, and merciful, and righteous.
4The Lord is high above all nations; and his glory above the heavens.
5All is well for the man who is kind and gives freely to others; he will make good his cause when he is judged.
5 It is well with the man that is gracious and lendeth; he will sustain his cause in judgment.
5Who is as the Lord our God, who dwelleth on high:
6He will not ever be moved; the memory of the upright will be living for ever.
6 For he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.
6and looketh down on the low things in heaven and in earth?
7He will have no fear of evil news; his heart is fixed, for his hope is in the Lord.
7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings; his heart is fixed confiding in Jehovah;
7Raising up the needy from the earth, and lifting up the poor out of the dunghill:
8His heart is resting safely, he will have no fear, till he sees trouble come on his haters.
8 His heart is maintained, he is not afraid, until he see [his desire] upon his oppressors.
8That he may place him with princes, with the princes of his people.
9He has given with open hands to the poor; his righteousness is for ever; his horn will be lifted up with honour.
9 He scattereth abroad, he giveth to the needy; his righteousness abideth for ever: his horn shall be exalted with honour.
9Who maketh a barren woman to dwell in a house, the joyful mother of children.
