1Let the Lord be praised. I will give praise to the Lord with all my heart, among the upright, and in the meeting of the people.

1Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord: he shall delight exceedingly in his commandments.

2The works of the Lord are great, searched out by all those who have delight in them.

2His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the righteous shall be blessed.

3His work is full of honour and glory; and his righteousness is unchanging for ever.

3Glory and wealth shall be in his house: and his justice remaineth for ever and ever.

4Certain for ever is the memory of his wonders: the Lord is full of pity and mercy.

4To the righteous a light is risen up in darkness: he is merciful, and compassionate and just.

5He has given food to his worshippers; he will keep his agreement in mind for ever.

5Acceptable is the man that sheweth mercy and lendeth: he shall order his words with judgment:

6He has made clear to his people the power of his works, giving them the heritage of the nations.

6Because he shall not be moved for ever.

7The works of his hands are faith and righteousness; all his laws are unchanging.

7The just shall be in everlasting remembrance: he shall not fear the evil hearing. His heart is ready to hope in the Lord:

8They are fixed for ever and ever, they are done in faith and righteousness.

8His heart is strengthened, he shall not be moved until he look over his enemies.

9He has sent salvation to his people; he has given his word for ever: holy is his name and greatly to be feared.

9He hath distributed, he hath given to the poor: his justice remaineth for ever and ever: his horn shall be exalted in glory.

10The fear of the Lord is the best part of wisdom: all those who keep his laws are wise: his praise is eternal.

10The wicked shall see, and shall be angry, he shall gnash with his teeth and pine away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.
