Psalms 111

1Praise ye Jehovah. I will give thanks unto Jehovah with my whole heart, In the council of the upright, and in the congregation.

1Praise the LORD! I will thank the LORD with my whole heart, both in private meetings of good people and in the public assembly.

2The works of Jehovah are great, Sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.

2The things the LORD does are magnificent; everyone who finds joy in them studies them.

3His work is honor and majesty; And his righteousness endureth for ever.

3Everything he does is full of honor and majesty, and his righteousness lasts forever.

4He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: Jehovah is gracious and merciful.

4He has caused his wonderful miracles to be remembered; the LORD is kind and full of mercy.

5He hath given food unto them that fear him: He will ever be mindful of his covenant.

5He provides food for those who respect and fear him; he always remembers the promise he made.

6He hath showed his people the power of his works, In giving them the heritage of the nations.

6He has shown his people the power of his works by giving them the lands belonging to other nations.

7The works of his hands are truth and justice; All his precepts are sure.

7Everything he does is true and fair; all of his laws can be trusted.

8They are established for ever and ever; They are done in truth and uprightness.

8They stand firm forever and ever; they are carried out with truth and honesty.

9He hath sent redemption unto his people; He hath commanded his covenant for ever: Holy and reverend is his name.

9He paid the price to set his people free; he established his covenant to last forever. His name is holy and inspires awe.

10The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all they that dohis commandments: His praise endureth for ever.

10The fear of the LORD is the first step to wisdom; everyone who obeys his commands has good understanding. His praise lasts forever.
