1Bless Jehovah, O my soul; And all that is within me, blesshis holy name.
1For David himself. Bless the Lord, O my soul: O Lord my God, thou art exceedingly great. Thou hast put on praise and beauty:
1Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2Bless Jehovah, O my soul, And forget not all his benefits:
2And art clothed with light as with a garment. Who stretchest out the heaven like a pavilion:
2Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; Who healeth all thy diseases;
3Who coverest the higher rooms thereof with water. Who makest the clouds thy chariot: who walkest upon the wings of the winds.
3Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; Who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
4Who makest thy angels spirits: and thy ministers a burning fire.
4Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5Who satisfieth thy desire with good things, So that thy youth is renewed like the eagle.
5Who hast founded the earth upon its own bases: it shall not be moved for ever and ever.
5Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
6Jehovah executeth righteous acts, And judgments for all that are oppressed.
6The deep like a garment is its clothing: above the mountains shall the waters stand.
6The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.
7He made known his ways unto Moses, His doings unto the children of Israel.
7At thy rebuke they shall flee: at the voice of thy thunder they shall fear.
7He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.
8Jehovah is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness.
8The mountains ascend, and the plains descend into the place which thou hast founded for them.
8The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
9He will not always chide; Neither will he keephis angerfor ever.
9Thou hast set a bound which they shall not pass over; neither shall they return to cover the earth.
9He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.
10He hath not dealt with us after our sins, Nor rewarded us after our iniquities.
10Thou sendest forth springs in the vales: between the midst of the hills the waters shall pass.
10He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
11For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is his lovingkindness toward them that fear him.
11All the beasts of the field shall drink: the wild asses shall expect in their thirst.
11For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
12As far as the east is from the west, So far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
12Over them the birds of the air shall dwell: from the midst of the rocks they shall give forth their voices.
12As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
13Like as a father pitieth his children, So Jehovah pitieth them that fear him.
13Thou waterest the hills from thy upper rooms: the earth shall be filled with the fruit of thy works:
13Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.
14For he knoweth our frame; He remembereth that we are dust.
14Bringing forth grass for cattle, and herb for the service of men. That thou mayst bring bread out of the earth:
14For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.
15As for man, his days are as grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
15And that wine may cheer the heart of man. That he may make the face cheerful with oil: and that bread may strengthen man's heart.
15As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
16For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; And the place thereof shall know it no more.
16The trees of the field shall be filled, and the cedars of Libanus which he hath planted:
16For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.
17But the lovingkindness of Jehovah is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, And his righteousness unto children’s children;
17There the sparrows shall make their nests. The highest of them is the house of the heron.
17But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;
18To such as keep his covenant, And to those that remember his precepts to do them.
18The high hills are a refuge for the harts, the rock for the irchins.
18To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.
19Jehovah hath established his throne in the heavens; And his kingdom ruleth over all.
19He hath made the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.
19The Lord hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.
20Bless Jehovah, ye his angels, That are mighty in strength, that fulfil his word, Hearkening unto the voice of his word.
20Thou hast appointed darkness, and it is night: in it shall all the beasts of the woods go about:
20Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.
21Bless Jehovah, all ye his hosts, Ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.
21The young lions roaring after their prey, and seeking their meat from God.
21Bless ye the Lord, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.
22Bless Jehovah, all ye his works, In all places of his dominion: Bless Jehovah, O my soul.
22The sun ariseth, and they are gathered together: and they shall lie down in their dens.
22Bless the Lord, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the Lord, O my soul.
