“And so do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, Luke, my fellow-workers.” Paul lists respected co-laborers who send greetings. Their inclusion testifies that the request to Philemon stands within the consensus of trusted partners in ministry. It also displays the diversity and reach of the gospel team supporting Paul even in imprisonment. By calling them “my fellow-workers,” Paul underscores that their interests align with his: the progress of the gospel and the health of the churches. Their greetings wrap Philemon in a wider embrace, encouraging him to respond to Onesimus in a way befitting the shared mission they all serve.

Context

This verse continues the final salutations, widening the network of solidarity around Paul’s appeal. The named co-workers remind Philemon that he is part of a larger body committed to Christ’s work. With these greetings offered, only the closing blessing remains. Verse 25 will end the letter as it began, with grace from the Lord Jesus Christ—divine enablement for all the love, forgiveness, and partnership the letter has urged.

v.23Epaphras, my fellow-prisoner in Christ Jesus, saluteth thee;

v.24This passage

v.25The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
