2Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land of your dwellings, which I give unto you,
2Speak to the children of Israel and thou shalt say to them: When you shall be come unto the land of your habitation, which I will give you,
3and will make an offering by fire to Jehovah, a burnt-offering or a sacrifice for the performance of a vow, or as a voluntary offering, or in your set feasts, to make a sweet odour to Jehovah, of the herd or of the flock,
3And shall make an offering to the Lord, for a holocaust, or a victim, paying your vows, or voluntarily offering gifts, or in your solemnities burning a sweet savour unto the Lord, of oxen or of sheep:
4then shall he that presenteth his offering to Jehovah bring as oblation a tenth part of fine flour mingled with a fourth part of a hin of oil;
4Whosoever immolateth the victim, shall offer a sacrifice of fine flour, the tenth part of an ephi, tempered with the fourth part of a hin of oil:
5and of wine for a drink-offering shalt thou offer the fourth part of a hin with the burnt-offering, or with the sacrifice, for one lamb.
5And he shall give the same measure of wine to pour out in libations for the holocaust or for the victim. For every lamb,
6And for a ram thou shalt offer as oblation two tenth parts of fine flour mingled with oil, a third part of a hin,
6And for every ram there shall be a sacrifice of flour of two tenths, which shall be tempered with the third part of a hin of oil:
7and of wine for a drink-offering shalt thou offer the third part of a hin; for a sweet odour to Jehovah.
7And he shall offer the third part the same measure of wine for the libation, for a sweet savour to the Lord.
8And when thou offerest a bullock for a burnt-offering, or a sacrifice for the performance of a vow, or for a peace-offering to Jehovah,
8But when thou offerest a holocaust or sacrifice of oxen, to fulfil thy vow or for victims of peace offerings,
9then shall they present with the bullock as oblation three tenth parts of fine flour mingled with half a hin of oil;
9Thou shalt give for every ox three tenths of flour tempered with half a hin of oil,
10and of wine shalt thou present half a hin, for a drink-offering, as an offering by fire, of a sweet odour to Jehovah.
10And wine for libations of the same measure, for an offering of most sweet savour to the Lord.
11Thus shall it be done for one ox, or for one ram, or for a lamb, or for a kid;
11Thus shalt thou do
12according to the number that ye offer, so shall ye do to every one according to their number.
12For every ox and ram and lamb and kid.
13And all that are born in the land shall do these things thus, in presenting an offering by fire of a sweet odour to Jehovah.
13Both they that are born in the land, and the strangers
14And if a stranger sojourn with you, or whoever be among you throughout your generations, and will offer an offering by fire of a sweet odour to Jehovah, — as ye do, so shall he do.
14Shall offer sacrifices after the same rite.
15As to the congregation, there shall be one statute for you, and for the stranger that sojourneth with you, an everlasting statute throughout your generations: as ye are, so shall the stranger be, before Jehovah.
15There shall be all one law and judgment both for you and for them who are strangers in the land.
16One law and one ordinance shall be for you, and for the stranger that sojourneth with you.
16And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
17And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
17Speak to the children of Israel, and thou shalt say to them:
18Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land whither I bring you,
18When you are come into the land which I will give you,
19then it shall be, when ye eat of the bread of the land, that ye shall offer a heave-offering to Jehovah;
19And shall eat of the bread of that country, you shall separate firstfruits to the Lord,
20the first of your dough shall ye offer, a cake, for a heave-offering; as the heave-offering of the threshing-floor, so shall ye offer this.
20Of the things you eat. As you separate firstfruits of your barnfloors:
21Of the first of your dough ye shall give to Jehovah a heave-offering throughout your generations.
21So also shall you give firstfruits of your dough to the Lord.
22And if ye sin inadvertently, and do not all these commandments, which Jehovah hath spoken unto Moses,
22And if through ignorance you omit any of these things, which the Lord hath spoken to Moses,
23all that Jehovah hath commanded you through Moses, from the day that Jehovah gave commandment, and henceforward throughout your generations;
23And by him hath commanded you from the day that he began to command and thenceforward,
24then it shall be, if ought be committed by inadvertence [hid] from the eyes of the assembly, that the whole assembly shall offer one young bullock for a burnt-offering, for a sweet odour to Jehovah, and its oblation and its drink-offering according to the ordinance, and one buck of the goats for a sin-offering.
24And the multitude have forgotten to do it: they shall offer a calf out of the herd, a holocaust for a most sweet savour to the Lord, and the sacrifice and libations thereof, as the ceremonies require, and a buck goat for sin:
25And the priest shall make atonement for the whole assembly of the children of Israel, and it shall be forgiven them; for it was a sin of inadvertence, and they have brought before Jehovah their offering, as an offering by fire to Jehovah, and their sin-offering for their [sin of] inadvertence;
25And the priest shall pray for all the multitude of the children of Israel: and it shall be forgiven them, because they sinned ignorantly, offering notwithstanding a burnt offering to the Lord for themselves and for their sin and their Ignorance:
26and it shall be forgiven the whole assembly of the children of Israel, and the stranger that sojourneth among them; for with all the people there was [a sin of] inadvertence.
26And it shall be forgiven all the people of the children of Israel: and the strangers that sojourn among them: because it is the fault of all the people through ignorance.
27And if one soul sin through inadvertence, then he shall present a yearling she-goat for a sin-offering.
27But if one soul shall sin ignorantly, he shall offer a she goat of a year old for his sin.
28And the priest shall make atonement for the soul that hath done inadvertently, when he sinneth by inadvertence before Jehovah, to make atonement for him; and it shall be forgiven him.
28And the priest shall pray for him, because he sinned ignorantly before the Lord: and he shall obtain his pardon, and it shall be forgiven him.
29For him that is born in the land among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them — there shall be one law for you, for him who doeth anything through inadvertence.
29The same law shall be for all that sin by ignorance, whether they be natives or strangers.
30But the soul that doeth ought with a high hand, whether born in the land, or a stranger, he reproacheth Jehovah; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
30But the soul that committeth any thing through pride, whether he be born in the land or a stranger (because he hath been rebellious against the Lord) shall be cut off from among his people:
31For he hath despised the word of Jehovah, and hath broken his commandment: that soul shall surely be cut off; his iniquity is upon him.
31For he hath contemned the word of the Lord, and made void his precept: therefore shall he be destroyed, and shall bear his iniquity.
32And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness they found a man gathering sticks on the sabbath day.
32And it came to pass, when the children of Israel were in the wilderness, and had found a man gathering sticks on the sabbath day,
33And they that found him gathering sticks brought him to Moses and Aaron, and to the whole assembly.
33That they brought him to Moses and Aaron and the whole multitude.
34And they put him in custody, for it was not declared what should be done to him.
34And they put him into prison, not knowing what they should do with him.
35And Jehovah said to Moses, The man shall certainly be put to death: the whole assembly shall stone him with stones outside the camp.
35And the Lord said to Moses: Let that man die, let all the multitude stone him without the camp.
36And the whole assembly led him outside the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died, as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
36And when they had brought him out, they stoned him, and he died as the Lord had commanded.
38Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them tassels on the corners of their garments, throughout their generations, and that they attach to the tassel of the corners a lace of blue;
38Speak to the children of Israel, and thou shalt tell them to make to themselves fringes in the corners of their garments, putting in them ribands of blue:
39and it shall be unto you for a tassel, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of Jehovah, and do them; and that ye seek not after [the lusts of] your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye go a whoring;
39That when they shall see them, they may remember all the commandments of the Lord, and not follow their own thoughts and eyes going astray after divers things,
