1And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

1The LORD said to Moses,

2Take Aaron and his sons with him, and the garments, and the anointing oil, and the bullock of the sin-offering, and the two rams, and the basket of unleavened bread;

2“Bring Aaron and his sons, along with their garments, the anointing oil, the bull for the sin offering, the two rams, and the basket of bread made without yeast.

3and assemble thou all the congregation at the door of the tent of meeting.

3Then gather the entire community together at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting.”

4And Moses did as Jehovah commanded him; and the congregation was assembled at the door of the tent of meeting.

4Moses did exactly as the LORD commanded him, and the community gathered at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting.

5And Moses said unto the congregation, This is the thing which Jehovah hath commanded to be done.

5Moses said to the people, “This is what the LORD has commanded to be done.”

6And Moses brought Aaron and his sons, and washed them with water.

6Moses brought Aaron and his sons forward and washed them with water.

7And he put upon him the coat, and girded him with the girdle, and clothed him with the robe, and put the ephod upon him, and he girded him with the skilfully woven band of the ephod, and bound it unto him therewith.

7He put the tunic on Aaron, tied the sash around him, dressed him in the robe, and put the ephod on him. He also tied the skillfully woven waistband of the ephod around him to fasten it.

8And he placed the breastplate upon him: and in the breastplate he put the Urim and the Thummim.

8He placed the chestpiece on him and put the Urim and Thummim inside it.

9And he set the mitre upon his head; and upon the mitre, in front, did he set the golden plate, the holy crown; as Jehovah commanded Moses.

9He placed the turban on Aaron’s head and attached the gold plate—the holy crown—to the front of the turban, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

10And Moses took the anointing oil, and anointed the tabernacle and all that was therein, and sanctified them.

10Then Moses took the anointing oil and anointed the tabernacle and everything in it, making them holy.

11And he sprinkled thereof upon the altar seven times, and anointed the altar and all its vessels, and the laver and its base, to sanctify them.

11He sprinkled some of the oil on the altar seven times, anointing the altar and all its tools, as well as the washbasin and its stand, to make them holy.

12And he poured of the anointing oil upon Aaron’s head, and anointed him, to sanctify him.

12He poured some of the anointing oil on Aaron’s head to anoint him and make him holy.

13And Moses brought Aaron’s sons, and clothed them with coats, and girded them with girdles, and bound head-tires upon them; as Jehovah commanded Moses.

13Then Moses brought Aaron’s sons forward. He put tunics on them, tied sashes around them, and put headbands on them, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

14And he brought the bullock of the sin-offering: and Aaron and his sons laid their hands upon the head of the bullock of the sin-offering.

14He brought the bull for the sin offering, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head.

15And he slew it; and Moses took the blood, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about with his finger, and purified the altar, and poured out the blood at the base of the altar, and sanctified it, to make atonement for it.

15Moses slaughtered the bull, took the blood, and put it on the horns of the altar with his finger to purify the altar. He poured the rest of the blood at the base of the altar. In this way, he made the altar holy and made atonement for it.

16And he took all the fat that was upon the inwards, and the caul of the liver, and the two kidneys, and their fat; and Moses burned it upon the altar.

16Moses took all the fat around the internal organs, the long lobe of the liver, and both kidneys with their fat, and burned them on the altar.

17But the bullock, and its skin, and its flesh, and its dung, he burnt with fire without the camp; as Jehovah commanded Moses.

17But the rest of the bull, including its hide, meat, and dung, he burned in a fire outside the camp, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

18And he presented the ram of the burnt-offering: and Aaron and his sons laid their hands upon the head of the ram.

18He then presented the ram for the burnt offering, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the ram’s head.

19And he killed it; and Moses sprinkled the blood upon the altar round about.

19Moses slaughtered it and splattered the blood against all sides of the altar.

20And he cut the ram into its pieces; and Moses burnt the head, and the pieces, and the fat.

20He cut the ram into pieces and burned the head, the pieces, and the fat.

21And he washed the inwards and the legs with water; and Moses burnt the whole ram upon the altar: it was a burnt-offering for a sweet savor: it was an offering made by fire unto Jehovah; as Jehovah commanded Moses.

21He washed the internal organs and the legs with water and burned the entire ram on the altar. It was a burnt offering, a pleasing aroma, an offering made to the LORD by fire, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

22And he presented the other ram, the ram of consecration: and Aaron and his sons laid their hands upon the head of the ram.

22Then he presented the second ram, which was the ram for the ordination. Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head.

23And he slew it; and Moses took of the blood thereof, and put it upon the tip of Aaron’s right ear, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot.

23Moses slaughtered it and put some of its blood on the lobe of Aaron’s right ear, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.

24And he brought Aaron’s sons; and Moses put of the blood upon the tip of their right ear, and upon the thumb of their right hand, and upon the great toe of their right foot: and Moses sprinkled the blood upon the altar round about.

24Moses also brought Aaron’s sons forward and put some of the blood on the lobes of their right ears, on the thumbs of their right hands, and on the big toes of their right feet. Then he splattered the rest of the blood against all sides of the altar.

25And he took the fat, and the fat tail, and all the fat that was upon the inwards, and the caul of the liver, and the two kidneys, and their fat, and the right thigh:

25He took the fat, the fat tail, all the fat around the internal organs, the long lobe of the liver, both kidneys with their fat, and the right thigh.

26and out of the basket of unleavened bread, that was before Jehovah, he took one unleavened cake, and one cake of oiled bread, and one wafer, and placed them on the fat, and upon the right thigh:

26From the basket of bread made without yeast that was before the LORD, he took one loaf of unleavened bread, one loaf made with oil, and one thin wafer. He placed these on the fat and the right thigh.

27and he put the whole upon the hands of Aaron, and upon the hands of his sons, and waved them for a wave-offering before Jehovah.

27He put all these things into the hands of Aaron and his sons, and they lifted them up as a special offering before the LORD.

28And Moses took them from off their hands, and burnt them on the altar upon the burnt-offering: they were a consecration for a sweet savor: it was an offering made by fire unto Jehovah.

28Then Moses took them back from their hands and burned them on the altar on top of the burnt offering. These were the ordination offerings, a pleasing aroma, an offering made to the LORD by fire.

29And Moses took the breast, and waved it for a wave-offering before Jehovah: it was Moses’ portion of the ram of consecration; as Jehovah commanded Moses.

29Moses also took the breast and lifted it up as a special offering before the LORD. This was Moses’ share of the ordination ram, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

30And Moses took of the anointing oil, and of the blood which was upon the altar, and sprinkled it upon Aaron, upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon his sons’ garments with him, and sanctified Aaron, his garments, and his sons, and his sons’ garments with him.

30Then Moses took some of the anointing oil and some of the blood from the altar and sprinkled it on Aaron and his garments, and on his sons and their garments. In this way, he made Aaron, his sons, and all their garments holy.

31And Moses said unto Aaron and to his sons, Boil the flesh at the door of the tent of meeting: and there eat it and the bread that is in the basket of consecration, as I commanded, saying, Aaron and his sons shall eat it.

31Moses said to Aaron and his sons, “Boil the meat at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting and eat it there with the bread that is in the basket of ordination offerings, just as I commanded when I said, ‘Aaron and his sons are to eat it.’

32And that which remaineth of the flesh and of the bread shall ye burn with fire.

32You must burn up any meat or bread that is left over.

33And ye shall not go out from the door of the tent of meeting seven days, until the days of your consecration be fulfilled: for he shall consecrate you seven days.

33Do not leave the entrance of the Tent of Meeting for seven days, until the time of your ordination is finished, because your ordination will last seven days.

34As hath been done this day, so Jehovah hath commanded to do, to make atonement for you.

34The LORD commanded that what was done today be done to make atonement for you.

35And at the door of the tent of meeting shall ye abide day and night seven days, and keep the charge of Jehovah, that ye die not: for so I am commanded.

35You must stay at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting day and night for seven days and do what the LORD requires, so that you do not die; for this is what I was commanded.”

36And Aaron and his sons did all the things which Jehovah commanded by Moses.

36So Aaron and his sons did everything the LORD had commanded through Moses.
