1And the lot of the children of Joseph fell from Jordan by Jericho, unto the water of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness that goeth up from Jericho throughout mount Beth–el,
1And the lot for the sons of Joseph goeth out from Jordan <FI>by<Fi> Jericho, to the waters of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness going up from Jericho in the hill-country of Beth-El,
1And the limit of the land marked out for the children of Joseph went out from Jordan at Jericho, at the waters of Jericho on the east, in the waste land, going up from Jericho through the hill-country to Beth-el;
2And goeth out from Beth–el to Luz, and passeth along unto the borders of Archi to Ataroth,
2and hath gone out from Beth-El to Luz, and passed over unto the border of Archi <FI>to<Fi> Ataroth,
2And it goes out from Beth-el to Luz, and on as far as the limit of the Archites to Ataroth;
3And goeth down westward to the coast of Japhleti, unto the coast of Beth–horon the nether, and to Gezer: and the goings out thereof are at the sea.
3and gone down westward unto the border of Japhleti, unto the border of Beth-Horon the lower, and unto Gezer, and its outgoings have been at the sea.
3And it goes down to the west to the limit of the Japhletites, to the limit of Beth-horon the lower, as far as Gezer; ending at the sea.
4So the children of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, took their inheritance.
4And the sons of Joseph--Manasseh and Ephraim--inherit.
4And the children of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, took their heritage.
5And the border of the children of Ephraim according to their families was thus: even the border of their inheritance on the east side was Ataroth–addar, unto Beth–horon the upper;
5And the border of the sons of Ephraim is by their families; and the border of their inheritance is on the east, Atroth-Addar unto Beth-Horon the upper;
5And the limit of the land of the children of Ephraim by their families was marked out in this way: the limit of their heritage to the east was Ataroth-addar, to Beth-horon the higher;
6And the border went out toward the sea to Michmethah on the north side; and the border went about eastward unto Taanath–shiloh, and passed by it on the east to Janohah;
6and the border hath gone out at the sea, to Michmethah on the north, and the border hath gone round eastward <FI>to<Fi> Taanath-Shiloh, and passed over it eastward to Janohah,
6The line goes out to the west at Michmethath on the north; then turning to the east to Taanath-shiloh, going past it on the east of Janoah;
7And it went down from Janohah to Ataroth, and to Naarath, and came to Jericho, and went out at Jordan.
7and gone down from Janohah <FI>to<Fi> Ataroth, and to Naarath, and touched against Jericho, and gone out at the Jordan.
7And from Janoah down to Ataroth, and to Naarah, and touching Jericho, it goes on to Jordan.
8The border went out from Tappuah westward unto the river Kanah; and the goings out thereof were at the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim by their families.
8From Tappuah the border goeth westward unto the brook of Kanah, and its outgoings have been at the sea: this <FI>is<Fi> the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, for their families.
8From Tappuah the line goes on to the west to the river of Kanah; ending at the sea. This is the heritage of the children of Ephraim by their families;
9And the separate cities for the children of Ephraim were among the inheritance of the children of Manasseh, all the cities with their villages.
9And the separate cities of the sons of Ephraim <FI>are<Fi> in the midst of the inheritance of the sons of Manasseh, all the cities and their villages;
9Together with the towns marked out for the children of Ephraim in the heritage of Manasseh, all the towns with their unwalled places.
10And they drave not out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer: but the Canaanites dwell among the Ephraimites unto this day, and serve under tribute.
10and they have not dispossessed the Canaanite who is dwelling in Gezer, and the Canaanite dwelleth in the midst of Ephraim unto this day, and is to tribute--a servant.
10And the Canaanites who were living in Gezer were not forced out; but the Canaanites have been living among Ephraim, to this day, as servants, doing forced work.
