1Knowest thou the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? dost thou mark the calving of the hinds?

1Knowest thou the time when the wild goats bring forth among the rocks, or hast thou observed the hinds when they fawn?

1Hast thou known the time of The bearing of the wild goats of the rock? The bringing forth of hinds thou dost mark!

2Dost thou number the months that they fulfil? and knowest thou the time when they bring forth?

3They bow themselves, they give birth to their young ones, they cast out their pains;

11Wilt thou put confidence in him, because his strength is great? and wilt thou leave thy labour to him?

20Dost thou make him to leap as a locust? His majestic snorting is terrible.

20Wilt thou lift him up like the locusts? the glory of his nostrils is terror.

21He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth in [his] strength; he goeth forth to meet the armed host.

21He breaketh up the earth with his hoof, he pranceth boldly, he goeth forward to meet armed men.

22He laugheth at fear, and is not affrighted; neither turneth he back from before the sword.

24With trembling and rage he swalloweth the ground, And remaineth not stedfast Because of the sound of a trumpet.

25At the noise of the trumpets he saith, Aha! and he smelleth the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.

25When he heareth the trumpet he saith: Ha, ha: he smelleth the battle afar off, the encouraging of the captains, and the shouting of the army.

26Doth the hawk fly by thine intelligence, [and] stretch his wings toward the south?

26Doth the hawk wax feathered by thy wisdom, spreading her wings to the south?

26By thine understanding flieth a hawk? Spreadeth he his wings to the south?

27Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make his nest on high?

27Will the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest in high places?

27At thy command goeth an eagle up high? Or lifteth he up his nest?

28He inhabiteth the rock and maketh his dwelling on the point of the cliff, and the fastness:

28She abideth among the rocks, and dwelleth among cragged flints, and stony hills, where there is no access.

28A rock he doth inhabit, Yea, he lodgeth on the tooth of a rock, and fortress.

29From thence he spieth out the prey, his eyes look into the distance;

29From thence she looketh for the prey, and her eyes behold afar off.

29From thence he hath sought food, To a far off place his eyes look attentively,

30And his young ones suck up blood; and where the slain are, there is he.

30Her young ones shall suck up blood: and wheresoever the carcass shall be, she is immediately there.

30And his brood gulp up blood, And where the pierced <FI>are<Fi> --there <FI>is<Fi> he!
