1Brethren, even if a man be overtaken in any trespass, ye who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; looking to thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

1Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore that person gently. But watch yourself, so that you are not tempted too.

2Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

2Carry each other’s heavy loads, and in this way you will obey the law of Christ.

3For if a man thinketh himself to be something when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

3If anyone thinks they are important when they are not, they are only fooling themselves.

4But let each man prove his own work, and then shall he have his glorying in regard of himself alone, and not of his neighbor.

4Each person should check their own actions. Then they can take pride in their own work without comparing themselves to someone else.

5For each man shall bear his own burden.

5For everyone must carry their own load of responsibility.

6But let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.

6The person who is taught the word of God should share all good things with their teacher.

7Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

7Do not be fooled; you cannot trick God. A person will harvest exactly what they plant.

8For he that soweth unto his own flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth unto the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap eternal life.

8If someone plants to satisfy their sinful nature, they will harvest decay and death from that nature. But if someone plants to please the Spirit, they will harvest eternal life from the Spirit.

9And let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

9Let us not get tired of doing what is good. At the right time we will gather a harvest if we don’t give up.

10So then, as we have opportunity, let us work that which is good toward all men, and especially toward them that are of the household of the faith.

10Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

11See with how large letters I write unto you with mine own hand.

11Look at what large letters I am using as I write to you with my own hand.

12As many as desire to make a fair show in the flesh, they compel you to be circumcised; only that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ.

12Those people who want to make a good impression outwardly are trying to force you to be circumcised. They only do this so they won't be persecuted for the cross of Christ.

13For not even they who receive circumcision do themselves keep the law; but they desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.

13Even those who are circumcised do not obey the whole law. They just want you to be circumcised so they can brag about what you did to your bodies.

14But far be it from me to glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world hath been crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

14May I never brag about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of that cross, the world is dead to me, and I am dead to the world.

15For neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

15It doesn't matter if a person is circumcised or not. What matters is being a new creation.

16And as many as shall walk by this rule, peace be upon them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.

16May peace and mercy be on all who follow this rule, and on the Israel of God.

17Henceforth let no man trouble me; for I bear branded on my body the marks of Jesus.

17From now on, let no one cause me trouble, for I carry the scars of Jesus branded on my body.

18The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brethren. Amen.

18The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers and sisters. Amen.
