1And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

1And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

2Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me a heave-offering: of every one whose heart prompteth him, ye shall take my heave-offering.

2Speak to the children of Israel, that they bring firstfruits to me: of every man that offereth of his own accord, you shall take them.

3And this is the heave-offering that ye shall take of them: gold, and silver, and copper,

3And these are the things you must take: Gold, and silver, and brass,

4and blue, and purple, and scarlet, and byssus, and goats' [hair],

4Violet and purple, and scarlet twice dyed, and fine linen, and goats' hair,

5and rams' skins dyed red, and badgers' skins; and acacia-wood;

5And rams' skins dyed red, and violet skins, and setim wood:

6oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil, and for the incense of fragrant drugs;

6Oil to make lights: spices for ointment, and for sweetsmelling incense:

7onyx stones, and stones to be set in the ephod, and in the breastplate.

7Onyx stones, and precious stones to adorn the ephod and the rational.

8And they shall make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them.

8And they shall make me a sanctuary, and I will dwell in the midst of them:

9According to all that I shall shew thee, the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the utensils thereof, even so shall ye make [it].

9According to all the likeness of the tabernacle which I will shew thee, and of all the vessels for the service thereof: and thus you shall make it:

10And they shall make an ark of acacia-wood; two cubits and a half the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof.

10Frame an ark of setim wood, the length whereof shall be of two cubits and a half; the breadth, a cubit and a half; the height, likewise, a cubit and a half.

11And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold: inside and outside shalt thou overlay it; and shalt make upon it a border of gold round about.

11And thou shalt overlay it with the purest gold, within and without; and over it thou shalt make a golden crown round about:

12And cast four rings of gold for it, and put [them] at the four corners thereof, that two rings may be upon the one side thereof and two rings upon the other side thereof.

12And four golden rings, which thou shalt put at the four corners of the ark: let two rings be on the one side, and two on the other.

13And make staves of acacia-wood and overlay them with gold.

13Thou shalt make bars also of setim wood, and shalt overlay them with gold.

14And put the staves into the rings upon the sides of the ark, that the ark may be borne with them.

14And thou shalt put them in through the rings that are in the sides of the ark, that it may be carried on them:

15The staves shall be in the rings of the ark: they shall not come out from it.

15And they shall be always in the rings, neither shall they at any time be drawn out of them.

16And thou shalt put into the ark the testimony that I shall give thee.

16And thou shalt put in the ark the testimony which I will give thee.

17And thou shalt make a mercy-seat of pure gold: two cubits and a half the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof.

17Thou shalt make also a propitiatory of the purest gold: the length thereof shall be two cubits and a half, and the breadth a cubit and a half.

18And thou shalt make two cherubim of gold; [of] beaten work shalt thou make them, at the two ends of the mercy-seat.

18Thou shalt make also two cherubims of beaten gold, on the two sides of the oracle.

19And make one cherub at the end of the one side, and one cherub at the end of the other side; out of the mercy-seat shall ye make the cherubim at the two ends thereof.

19Let one cherub be on the one side, and the other on the other.

20And the cherubim shall stretch out [their] wings over it, covering over with their wings the mercy-seat, and their faces opposite to one another: toward the mercy-seat shall the faces of the cherubim be [turned].

20Let them cover both sides of the propitiatory, spreading their wings, and covering the oracle, and let them look one towards the other, their faces being turned towards the propitiatory wherewith the ark is to be covered.

21And thou shalt put the mercy-seat above on the ark, and shalt put in the ark the testimony that I shall give thee.

21In which thou shalt put the testimony that I will give thee.

22And there will I meet with thee, and will speak with thee from above the mercy-seat, from between the two cherubim which are upon the ark of the testimony, everything that I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.

22Thence will I give orders, and will speak to thee over the propitiatory, and from the midst of the two cherubims, which shall be upon the ark of the testimony, all things which I will command the children of Israel by thee.

23And thou shalt make a table of acacia-wood, two cubits the length thereof, and a cubit the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof.

23Thou shalt make a table also of setim wood, of two cubits in length, and a cubit in breadth, and a cubit and a half in height.

24And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, and make upon it a border of gold round about.

24And thou shalt overlay it with the purest gold: and thou shalt make to it a golden ledge round about.

25And thou shalt make for it a margin of a handbreadth round about, and shalt make a border of gold for the margin thereof round about.

25And to the ledge itself a polished crown, four inches high; and over the same another little golden crown.

26And thou shalt make for it four rings of gold, and put the rings at the four corners that are on the four feet thereof.

26Thou shalt prepare also four golden rings, and shalt put them in the four corners of the same table, over each foot.

27Close to the margin shall the rings be, as receptacles of the staves to carry the table.

27Under the crown shall the golden rings be, that the bars may be put through them, and the table may be carried.

28And thou shalt make the staves of acacia-wood, and overlay them with gold; and the table shall be carried upon them.

28The bars also themselves thou shalt make of setim wood, and shalt overlay them with gold, to bear up the table.

29And thou shalt make the dishes thereof, and cups thereof, and goblets thereof, and bowls thereof, with which to pour out: of pure gold shalt thou make them.

29Thou shalt prepare also dishes, and bowls, censers, and cups, wherein the libations are to be offered, of the purest gold.

30And thou shalt set upon the table shewbread before me continually.

30And thou shalt set upon the table loaves of proposition in my sight always.

31And thou shalt make a lamp-stand of pure gold; [of] beaten work shall the lamp-stand be made: its base and its shaft, its cups, its knobs, and its flowers shall be of the same.

31Thou shalt make also a candlestick of beaten work, of the finest gold, the shaft thereof, and the branches, the cups, and the bowls, and the lilies going forth from it.

32And six branches shall come out of the sides thereof — three branches of the lamp-stand out of one side thereof, and three branches of the lamp-stand out of the other side thereof;

32Six branches shall come out of the sides, three out of one side, and three out of the other.

33three cups shaped like almonds in the one branch, a knob and a flower: and three cups shaped like almonds in the other branch, a knob and a flower: so in the six branches that come out of the lamp-stand.

33Three cups as it were nuts to every branch, and a bowl withal, and a lily: and three cups likewise of the fashion of nuts in the other branch, and a bowl withal, and a lily. Such shall be the work of the six branches, that are to come out from the shaft:

34And in the lamp-stand four cups shaped like almonds, its knobs and its flowers;

34And in the candlestick itself shall be four cups in the manner of a nut, and at every one bowls and lilies.

35and a knob under two branches of it, and [again] a knob under two branches of it, and [again] a knob under two branches of it, for the six branches that proceed out of the lamp-stand.

35Bowls under two branches in three places, which together make six, coming forth out of one shaft.

36Their knobs and their branches shall be of itself — all of one beaten work of pure gold.

36And both the bowls and the branches shall be of the same beaten work of the purest gold.

37And thou shalt make the seven lamps thereof, and they shall light the lamps thereof, that they may shine out before it;

37Thou shalt make also seven lamps, and shalt set them upon the candlestick, to give light over against.

38and the snuffers thereof, and the snuff-trays thereof, of pure gold.

38The snuffers also, and where the snuffings shall be put out, shall be made of the purest gold.

39Of a talent of pure gold shall they make it, with all these utensils.

39The whole weight of the candlestick, with all the furniture thereof, shall be a talent of the purest gold.

40And see that thou make [them] according to their pattern, which hath been shewn to thee in the mountain.

40Look, and make it according to the pattern that was shewn thee in the mount.
