1Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign; and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Hephzibah.
1A son of twelve years <FI>is<Fi> Manasseh in his reigning, and fifty and five years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother <FI>is<Fi> Hephzi-Bah;
1Manasses was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned five and fifty years in Jerusalem: the name of his mother was Haphsiba.
2And he did evil in the sight of Jehovah, like the abominations of the nations that Jehovah had dispossessed from before the children of Israel.
2and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, according to the abominations of the nations that Jehovah dispossessed from the presence of the sons of Israel,
2And he did evil in the sight of the Lord, according to the idols of the nations, which the Lord destroyed from before the face of the children of Israel.
3And he built again the high places that Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars to Baal and made an Asherah, as did Ahab king of Israel; and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.
3and he turneth and buildeth the high places that Hezekiah his father destroyed, and raiseth altars for Baal, and maketh a shrine, as did Ahab king of Israel, and boweth himself to all the host of the heavens, and serveth them.
3And he turned, and built up the high places, which Ezechias, his father, had destroyed: and he set up altars to Baal, and made groves, as Achab, the king of Israel, had done: and he adored all the host of heaven, and served them.
4And he built altars in the house of Jehovah, of which Jehovah had said, In Jerusalem will I put my name.
4And he hath built altars in the house of Jehovah, of which Jehovah said, `In Jerusalem I put My name.'
4And he built altars in the house of the Lord, of which the Lord said: In Jerusalem I will put my name.
5And he built altars to all the host of heaven in both courts of the house of Jehovah.
5And he buildeth altars to all the host of the heavens in the two courts of the house of Jehovah;
5And he built altars for all the host of heaven, in the two courts of the temple of the Lord.
6And he caused his son to pass through the fire, and used magic and divination, and appointed necromancers and soothsayers: he wrought evil beyond measure in the sight of Jehovah, to provoke him to anger.
6and he hath caused his son to pass through fire, and observed clouds, and used enchantment, and dealt with a familiar spirit and wizards; he hath multiplied to do the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah--to provoke to anger.
6And he made his son pass through fire: and he used divinations, and observed omens, and appointed pythons, and multiplied soothsayers, to do evil before the Lord, and to provoke him.
7And he set the graven image of the Asherah that he had made, in the house of which Jehovah had said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever;
7And he setteth the graven image of the shrine that he made in the house of which Jehovah said unto David and unto Solomon his son, `In this house, and in Jerusalem, that I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I put My name--to the age;
7He set also an idol of the grove, which he had made, in the temple of the Lord: concerning which the Lord said to David, and to Solomon his son: In this temple, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put my name for ever.
8neither will I any more cause the foot of Israel to wander away from the land that I gave their fathers; if they will only take heed to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded them.
8and I do not add to cause the foot of Israel to move from the ground that I gave to their fathers, only, if they observe to do according to all that I commanded them, and to all the law that My servant Moses commanded them.'
8And I will no more make the feet of Israel to be moved out of the land, which I gave to their fathers: only if they will observe to do all that I have commanded them, according to the law which my servant Moses commanded them.
9But they would not hearken, and Manasseh led them astray to do more evil than the nations that Jehovah had destroyed from before the children of Israel.
9And they have not hearkened, and Manasseh causeth them to err, to do the evil thing above the nations that Jehovah destroyed from the presence of the sons of Israel.
9But they hearkened not: but were seduced by Manasses, to do evil more than the nations which the Lord destroyed before the children of Israel.
10And Jehovah spoke by his servants the prophets saying,
10And Jehovah speaketh by the hand of his servants the prophets, saying,
10And the Lord spoke in the hand of his servants, the prophets, saying:
11Because Manasseh king of Judah hath done these abominations, and hath done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, who were before him, and hath made Judah also to sin with his idols;
11`Because that Manasseh king of Judah hath done these abominations--he hath done evil above all that the Amorites have done who <FI>are<Fi> before him, and causeth also Judah to sin by his idols;
11Because Manasses, king of Juda, hath done these most wicked abominations, beyond all that the Amorrhites did before him, and hath made Juda also to sin with his filthy doings:
12therefore thus saith Jehovah theGod of Israel: Behold, I will bring evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whosoever heareth of it, both his ears shall tingle.
12therefore thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, Lo, I am bringing in evil on Jerusalem and Judah, that whoever heareth of it, tingle do his two ears.
12Therefore thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel: Behold, I will bring on evils upon Jerusalem and Juda: that whosoever shall hear of them, both his ears shall tingle.
13And I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab, and I will wipe Jerusalem as one wipeth a pan, wiping it and turning it upside down.
13And I have stretched out over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab, and wiped Jerusalem as one wipeth the dish--he hath wiped, and hath turned <FI>it<Fi> on its face.
13And I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the weight of the house of Achab: and I will efface Jerusalem, as writings tables are wont to be effaced, and I will erase and turn it, and draw the pencil often over the face thereof.
14And I will forsake the remnant of mine inheritance, and deliver them into the hand of their enemies; and they shall become a prey and a spoil to all their enemies;
14`And I have left the remnant of Mine inheritance, and given them into the hand of their enemies, and they have been for a prey and for a spoil to all their enemies,
14And I will leave the remnants of my inheritance, and will deliver them into the hands of their enemies: and they shall become a prey, and a spoil to all their enemies.
15because they have done evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt even to this day.
15because that they have done the evil thing in Mine eyes, and are provoking Me to anger from the day that their fathers came out of Egypt, even unto this day.'
15Because they have done evil before me, and have continued to provoke me, from the day that their fathers came out of Egypt, even unto this day.
16And Manasseh shed very much innocent blood, till he had filled Jerusalem [with it] from one end to another; beside his sin with which he made Judah to sin, in doing evil in the sight of Jehovah.
16And also, innocent blood hath Manasseh shed very much, till that he hath filled Jerusalem--mouth to mouth; apart from his sin that he hath caused Judah to sin, to do the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah.
16Moreover, Manasses shed also very much innocent blood, till he filled Jerusalem up to the mouth: besides his sins, wherewith he made Juda to sin, to do evil before the Lord.
17And the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sin which he sinned, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
17And the rest of the matters of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sin that he sinned, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah?
17Now the rest of the acts of Manasses, and all that he did, and his sin, which he sinned, are they not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Juda?
18And Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza; and Amon his son reigned in his stead.
18And Manasseh lieth with his fathers, and is buried in the garden of his house, in the garden of Uzza, and reign doth Amon his son in his stead.
18And Manasses slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Oza: and Amon, his son, reigned in his stead.
19Amon was twenty-two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned two years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Meshullemeth, daughter of Haruz of Jotbah.
19A son of twenty and two years <FI>is<Fi> Amon in his reigning, and two years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother <FI>is<Fi> Meshullemeth daughter of Haruz of Jotbah,
19Two and twenty years old was Amon when he began to reign, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem: the name of his mother was Messalemeth, the daughter of Harus, of Jeteba.
20And he did evil in the sight of Jehovah, as Manasseh his father had done;
20and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, as did Manasseh his father,
20And he did evil in the sight of the Lord, as Manasses, his father, had done.
21and he walked in all the way that his father had walked in, and served the idols that his father had served, and worshipped them;
21and walketh in all the way that his father walked in, and serveth the idols that his father served, and boweth himself to them,
21And he walked in all the way in which his father had walked: and he served the abominations which his father had served, and he adored them.
22and he forsook Jehovah theGod of his fathers, and walked not in the way of Jehovah.
22and forsaketh Jehovah, God of his fathers, and hath not walked in the way of Jehovah.
22And forsook the Lord, the God of his fathers, and walked not in the way of the Lord.
23And the servants of Amon conspired against him, and slew the king in his own house.
23And the servants of Amon conspire against him, and put the king to death in his own house,
23And his servants plotted against him, and slew the king in his own house.
24But the people of the land smote all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.
24and the people of the land smite all those conspiring against king Amon, and the people of the land cause Josiah his son to reign in his stead.
24But the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon: and made Josias, his son, their king in his stead.
25And the rest of the acts of Amon, what he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
25And the rest of the matters of Amon that he did, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah?
25But the rest of the acts of Amon, which he did, are they not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Juda?
26And he was buried in his sepulchre in the garden of Uzza; and Josiah his son reigned in his stead.
26and <FI>one<Fi> burieth him in his burying-place in the garden of Uzza, and reign doth Josiah his son in his stead.
26And they buried him in his sepulchre, in the garden of Oza: and his son, Josias, reigned in his stead.
