1The sons of Levi; Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

1The sons of Levi were Gerson, Caath, and Merari.

2And the sons of Kohath; Amram, Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.

2The Sons of Caath: Amram, Isaar, Hebron, and Oziel.

3And the children of Amram; Aaron, and Moses, and Miriam. The sons also of Aaron; Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

3The children of Amram: Aaron, Moses, and Mary. The Sons of Aaron: Nadab and Abiu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

4Eleazar begat Phinehas, Phinehas begat Abishua,

4Eleazar begot Phinees, and Phinees begot Abisue,

5And Abishua begat Bukki, and Bukki begat Uzzi,

5And Abisue begot Bocci, and Bocci begot Ozi.

6And Uzzi begat Zerahiah, and Zerahiah begat Meraioth,

6Ozi begot Zaraias, and Zaraias begot Maraioth.

7Meraioth begat Amariah, and Amariah begat Ahitub,

7And Maraioth begot Amarias, and Amarias begot Achitob.

8And Ahitub begat Zadok, and Zadok begat Ahimaaz,

8Achitob begot Sadoc, and Sadoc begot Achimaas.

9And Ahimaaz begat Azariah, and Azariah begat Johanan,

9Achimaas begot Azarias, Azarias begot Johanan,

10And Johanan begat Azariah, (he it is that executed the priest’s office in the temple that Solomon built in Jerusalem:)

10Johanan begot Azarias. This is he that executed the priestly office in the house which Solomon built in Jerusalem.

11And Azariah begat Amariah, and Amariah begat Ahitub,

11And Azarias begot Amarias, and Amarias begot Achitob.

12And Ahitub begat Zadok, and Zadok begat Shallum,

12And Achitob begot Sadoc, and Sadoc begot Sellum,

13And Shallum begat Hilkiah, and Hilkiah begat Azariah,

13Sellum begot Helcias, and Helcias begot Azarias,

14And Azariah begat Seraiah, and Seraiah begat Jehozadak,

14Azarias begot Saraias, and Saraias begot Josedec.

15And Jehozadak went into captivity, when the Lord carried away Judah and Jerusalem by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.

15Now Josedec went out, when the Lord carried away Juda, and Jerusalem, by the hands of Nabuchodonosor.

16The sons of Levi; Gershom, Kohath, and Merari.

16So the sons of Levi were Gerson, Caath, and Merari.

17And these be the names of the sons of Gershom; Libni, and Shimei.

18And the sons of Kohath were, Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.

19The sons of Merari; Mahli, and Mushi. And these are the families of the Levites according to their fathers.

19The sons of Merari: Moholi and Musi. And these are the kindreds of Levi according to their families.

25And the sons of Elkanah; Amasai, and Ahimoth.

29The sons of Merari; Mahli, Libni his son, Shimei his son, Uzza his son,

30Shimea his son, Haggiah his son, Asaiah his son.

30Sammaa his son, Haggia his son, Asaia his son.

31And these are they whom David set over the service of song in the house of the Lord, after that the ark had rest.

32And they ministered before the dwelling place of the tabernacle of the congregation with singing, until Solomon had built the house of the Lord in Jerusalem: and then they waited on their office according to their order.

32And they ministered before the tabernacle of the testimony, with singing, until Solomon built the house of the Lord in Jerusalem, and they stood according to their order in the ministry.

33And these are they that waited with their children. Of the sons of the Kohathites: Heman a singer, the son of Joel, the son of Shemuel,

34The son of Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Eliel, the son of Toah,

36The son of Elkanah, the son of Joel, the son of Azariah, the son of Zephaniah,

36The son of Elcana, the son of Johel, the son of Azarias, the son of Sophonias,

37The son of Tahath, the son of Assir, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah,

37The son of Thahath, the son of Asir, the son of Abiasaph, the son of Core,

38The son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, the son of Israel.

38The son of Isaar, the son of Caath, the son of Levi, the son of Israel.

39And his brother Asaph, who stood on his right hand, even Asaph the son of Berachiah, the son of Shimea,

40The son of Michael, the son of Baaseiah, the son of Malchiah,

44And their brethren the sons of Merari stood on the left hand: Ethan the son of Kishi, the son of Abdi, the son of Malluch,

44And the sons of Merari their brethren, on the left hand, Ethan the son of Cusi, the son of Abdi, the son of Meloch,

45The son of Hashabiah, the son of Amaziah, the son of Hilkiah,

45The son of Hasabia, the son of Amasai, the son of Helcias,

46The son of Amzi, the son of Bani, the son of Shamer,

46The son of Amasai, the son of Boni, the son of Somer,

47The son of Mahli, the son of Mushi, the son of Merari, the son of Levi.

47The son of Moholi, the son of Musi, the son of Merari, the son of Levi.

48Their brethren also the Levites were appointed unto all manner of service of the tabernacle of the house of God.

48Their brethren also the Levites, who were appointed for all the ministry of the tabernacle of the house of the Lord.

49But Aaron and his sons offered upon the altar of the burnt offering, and on the altar of incense, and were appointed for all the work of the place most holy, and to make an atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.

49But Aaron and his sons offered burnt offerings upon the altar of holocausts, and upon the altar of incense, for every work of the holy of holies: and to pray for Israel according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.

50And these are the sons of Aaron; Eleazar his son, Phinehas his son, Abishua his son,

51Bukki his son, Uzzi his son, Zerahiah his son,

54Now these are their dwelling places throughout their castles in their coasts, of the sons of Aaron, of the families of the Kohathites: for theirs was the lot.

54And these are their dwelling places by the towns and confines, to wit, of the sons of Aaron, of the families of the Caathites: for they fell to them by lot.

55And they gave them Hebron in the land of Judah, and the suburbs thereof round about it.

56But the fields of the city, and the villages thereof, they gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh.

57And to the sons of Aaron they gave the cities of Judah, namely, Hebron, the city of refuge, and Libnah with her suburbs, and Jattir, and Eshtemoa, with their suburbs,

57And to the sons of Aaron they gave the cities for refuge Hebron, and Lobna, and the suburbs thereof,

58And Hilen with her suburbs, Debir with her suburbs,

58And Jether and Esthemo, with their suburbs, and Helon, and Dabir with their suburbs:

59And Ashan with her suburbs, and Beth–shemesh with her suburbs:

59Asan also, and Bethsames, with their suburbs.

60And out of the tribe of Benjamin; Geba with her suburbs, and Alemeth with her suburbs, and Anathoth with her suburbs. All their cities throughout their families were thirteen cities.

60And out of the tribe of Benjamin: Gabee and its suburbs, Almath with its suburbs, Anathoth also with its suburbs: all their cities throughout their families were thirteen.

61And unto the sons of Kohath, which were left of the family of that tribe, were cities given out of the half tribe, namely, out of the half tribe of Manasseh, by lot, ten cities.

61And to the sons of Caath that remained of their kindred they gave out of the half tribe of Manasses ten cities in possession.

62And to the sons of Gershom throughout their families out of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.

62And to the sons of Gerson by their families out of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Aser, and out of the tribe of Nephtali, and out of the tribe Manasses in Basan, thirteen cities.

63Unto the sons of Merari were given by lot, throughout their families, out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.

63And to the sons of Merari by their families out of the tribe of Ruben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zabulon, they gave by lot twelve cities.

64And the children of Israel gave to the Levites these cities with their suburbs.

65And they gave by lot out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, and out of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, these cities, which are called by their names.

65And they gave them by lot, out of the tribe of the sons of Juda, and out of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, and out of the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, these cities which they called by their names.

66And the residue of the families of the sons of Kohath had cities of their coasts out of the tribe of Ephraim.

66And to them that were of the kindred of the sons of Caath, and the cities in their borders were of the tribe of Ephraim.

67And they gave unto them, of the cities of refuge, Shechem in mount Ephraim with her suburbs; they gave also Gezer with her suburbs,

67And they gave the cities of refuge Sichem with its suburbs in mount Ephraim, and Gazer with its suburbs,

68And Jokmeam with her suburbs, and Beth–horon with her suburbs,

68Jecmaan also with its suburbs, and Beth-horon in like manner,

69And Aijalon with her suburbs, and Gath–rimmon with her suburbs:

69Helon also with its suburbs, and Gethremmon in like manner,

70And out of the half tribe of Manasseh; Aner with her suburbs, and Bileam with her suburbs, for the family of the remnant of the sons of Kohath.

70And out of the half tribe of Manasses, Aner and its suburbs, Baalam and its suburbs, to wit, to them that were left of the family of the sons of Caath.

71Unto the sons of Gershom were given out of the family of the half tribe of Manasseh, Golan in Bashan with her suburbs, and Ashtaroth with her suburbs:

71And to the sons of Gersom, out the kindred of the half tribe of Manasses, Gaulon, in Basan, and its suburbs, and Astharoth with its suburbs.

72And out of the tribe of Issachar; Kedesh with her suburbs, Daberath with her suburbs,

72Out of the tribe of Issachar, Cedes and its suburbs, and Dabereth with its suburbs;

73And Ramoth with her suburbs, and Anem with her suburbs:

73Ramoth also and its suburbs, and Anem with its suburbs.

74And out of the tribe of Asher; Mashal with her suburbs, and Abdon with her suburbs,

74And out of the tribe of Aser: Masal with its suburbs, and Abdon in like manner;

75And Hukok with her suburbs, and Rehob with her suburbs:

75Hucac also and its suburbs, and Rohol with its suburbs.

76And out of the tribe of Naphtali; Kedesh in Galilee with her suburbs, and Hammon with her suburbs, and Kirjathaim with her suburbs.

76And out of the tribe of Nephtali, Cedes in Galilee and its suburbs, Hamon with its suburbs, and Cariathaim, and its suburbs.

77Unto the rest of the children of Merari were given out of the tribe of Zebulun, Rimmon with her suburbs, Tabor with her suburbs:

77And to the sons of Merari that remained: out of the tribe of Zabulon, Remmono and its suburbs, and Thabor with its suburbs.

78And on the other side Jordan by Jericho, on the east side of Jordan, were given them out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer in the wilderness with her suburbs, and Jahzah with her suburbs,

78Beyond the Jordan also over against Jericho, on the east side of the Jordan and out of the tribe of Ruben, Bosor in the wilderness with its suburbs, and Jassa with its suburbs;

79Kedemoth also with her suburbs, and Mephaath with her suburbs:

79Cademoth also and its suburbs, and Mephaath with its suburbs;

80And out of the tribe of Gad; Ramoth in Gilead with her suburbs, and Mahanaim with her suburbs,

80Moreover also out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Galaad and its suburbs, and Manaim with its suburbs;

81And Heshbon with her suburbs, and Jazer with her suburbs.
