7Then on that day did David first ordain to give thanks unto Jehovah, by the hand of Asaph and his brethren.
7That was the day David first assigned Asaph and his relatives to give thanks to the LORD in this way:
8O give thanks unto Jehovah, call upon his name; Make known his doings among the peoples.
8Give thanks to the LORD and call on his name; tell the nations what he has done.
9Sing unto him, sing praises unto him; Talk ye of all his marvellous works.
9Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell everyone about all his wonderful miracles.
10Glory ye in his holy name; Let the heart of them rejoice that seek Jehovah.
10Be proud of his holy name; let everyone who seeks the LORD be happy.
11Seek ye Jehovah and his strength; Seek his face evermore.
11Look to the LORD and his strength; always seek to be in his presence.
12Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, His wonders, and the judgments of his mouth,
12Remember the wonderful things he has done, his miracles, and the decisions he has spoken,
13O ye seed of Israel his servant, Ye children of Jacob, his chosen ones.
13you descendants of his servant Israel, the children of Jacob, his chosen ones.
14He is Jehovah our God; His judgments are in all the earth.
14He is the LORD our God; his justice is seen throughout the whole earth.
15Remember his covenant for ever, The word which he commanded to a thousand generations,
15Remember his covenant forever—the promise he made for a thousand generations,
16The covenantwhich he made with Abraham, And his oath unto Isaac,
16the covenant he made with Abraham, and the oath he swore to Isaac.
17And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a statute, To Israel for an everlasting covenant,
17He confirmed it to Jacob as a law, to Israel as a promise that lasts forever,
18Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, The lot of your inheritance;
18saying, 'I will give you the land of Canaan as the portion belonging to you.'
19When ye were but a few men in number, Yea, very few, and sojourners in it;
19This was when you were only a few people, very few, and you were strangers in the land.
20And they went about from nation to nation, And from one kingdom to another people.
20They wandered from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people.
21He suffered no man to do them wrong; Yea, he reproved kings for their sakes,
21He did not let anyone mistreat them; he warned kings for their sake,
22Saying, Touch not mine anointed ones, And do my prophets no harm.
22saying, 'Do not touch my anointed ones, and do no harm to my prophets.'
23Sing unto Jehovah, all the earth; Show forth his salvation from day to day.
23Sing to the LORD, everyone on earth; tell the good news of his salvation every day.
24Declare his glory among the nations, His marvellous works among all the peoples.
24Tell the nations about his glory; tell all people about the amazing things he does.
25For great is Jehovah, and greatly to be praised: He also is to be feared above all gods.
25For the LORD is great and deserves high praise; he is to be feared more than all gods.
26For all the gods of the peoples are idols: But Jehovah made the heavens.
26All the gods of other nations are just idols, but the LORD made the heavens.
27Honor and majesty are before him: Strength and gladness are in his place.
27Honor and majesty are all around him; strength and joy are in the place where he lives.
28Ascribe unto Jehovah, ye kindreds of the peoples, Ascribe unto Jehovah glory and strength;
28Give the LORD his due, you families of the nations; give the LORD credit for his glory and strength.
29Ascribe unto Jehovah the glory due unto his name: Bring an offering, and come before him; Worship Jehovah in holy array.
29Give the LORD the glory his name deserves; bring an offering and come before him. Worship the LORD in his holy splendor.
30Tremble before him, all the earth: The world also is established that it cannot be moved.
30Tremble before him, everyone on earth! The world is set firmly in place and cannot be moved.
31Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; And let them say among the nations, Jehovah reigneth.
31Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice; let the nations say, 'The LORD reigns!'
32Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; Let the field exult, and all that is therein;
32Let the sea and everything in it roar; let the fields and everything in them be happy.
33Then shall the trees of the wood sing for joy before Jehovah; For he cometh to judge the earth.
33Then the trees of the forest will sing for joy before the LORD, because he is coming to judge the earth.
34O give thanks unto Jehovah; for he is good; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever.
34Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his faithful love lasts forever.
35And say ye, Save us, O God of our salvation, And gather us together and deliver us from the nations, To give thanks unto thy holy name, And to triumph in thy praise.
35Say, 'Save us, O God our Savior; gather us and rescue us from the nations, so we can give thanks to your holy name and find joy in praising you.'
36Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, From everlasting even to everlasting. And all the people said, Amen, and praised Jehovah.
36Praise the LORD, the God of Israel, from forever ago to forever from now. Then all the people said, 'Amen!' and praised the LORD.
37So he left there, before the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, Asaph and his brethren, to minister before the ark continually, as every day’s work required;

41and with them Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest that were chosen, who were mentioned by name, to give thanks to Jehovah, because his lovingkindness endureth for ever;
41With them were Heman, Jeduthun, and the rest who were chosen and designated by name to give thanks to the LORD, because 'his faithful love lasts forever.'
42and with them Heman and Jeduthun with trumpets and cymbals for those that should sound aloud, and with instruments for the songs of God; and the sons of Jeduthun to be at the gate.
42Heman and Jeduthun were in charge of the trumpets, cymbals, and other instruments used to play the songs of God. The sons of Jeduthun were assigned to the gate.
